The announcement is coming today. I am keeping my fingers crossed for three things. First, I want it to be released for PS3, since I have three PS3s and am set up for triple screens. Second, I want all cockpits to be premium, no more "standard" cockpits. And finally, I want it to be released this year!!! UPDATE #1 - Well, I already got two of my three wishes, GT6 is confirmed for PS3 for this "holiday season." UPDATE #2 - Over 1200 cars (I just hit 1160 in GT5), monthly track DLC, at least 33 "locations", 71 layouts, totally new physics, suspension and "tyres" UPDATE #3 (AS OF 6/25/13) - Here is some additional information about the game. First, it is coming this year. I have no doubt about that. There is no official release date yet. Second, its coming for Playstation 3. PD is considering a Playstation 4 version, but don't hold your breath. Third, a demo is coming next week on July 2. It looks like it will have all Nissan cars, but its not clear what tracks will be available other than Silverstone. Fourth, expect your Fanatec, Logitech and Thrustmaster wheels to work just fine with it, just as they worked with GT5. No bullshit M$ like antics here. And finally, there are already some pre-order incentives, including a 20 car pack from Game Stop and a $1 million credits deal from amazon. Here is a link to the news page at gtplanet, where you can find all of the detail you want: www.gtplanet.net/So, who is getting it? I know I am. In fact, I need to order three copies of the game for my triple screen set up. UPDATE #4 (AS OF 8/21/13):Release date is confirmed - December 6, 2013. www.gtplanet.net/gt6-release-date/

UPDATE #2 - Over 1200 cars (I just hit 1160 in GT5), monthly track DLC, at least 33 "locations", 71 layouts, totally new physics, suspension and "tyres" the sad bit is 1200 cars but no V8s I am guessing and really no PS4?!?

UPDATE #2 - Over 1200 cars (I just hit 1160 in GT5), monthly track DLC, at least 33 "locations", 71 layouts, totally new physics, suspension and "tyres" the sad bit is 1200 cars but no V8s I am guessing and really no PS4?!? My speculation is this. They are re-doing the engine, but there is no question that they are carrying over prior assets with regard to cars and tracks. That is a lot easier to do if GT6 is coming out on PS3, since PD has been working with that hardware for at least 8 years now. PS3 was released in 2006, and had a working GT HD demo, so its not a stretch to assume that PD had the SDK at least a year before release. PS4 is going with a more PC like x86 architecture, and that is going to require a substantial amount of work for GT on the PS4 to be developed. My guess it that GT7 will be PS4 and its not coming for at least a couple of years. I suspect that GT7 Prologue will come earlier, perhaps in 2014. Me personally, I would rather have GT6 for PS3 later this year, than GT6 for PS4 several years from now. Moreover, doing GT6 with triple screens for PS3 is much easier for me, than if I had to do it on the PS4.

ya fully understand youre reasoning & theirs lawyer, I will buy it.. buut I don't need another 1200 random cars when all I like/use in GT5 is about 4 or 5 cars lol they should do series game not 500 different GTRs. I know this is what GT is all about but its getting old & has beeeeen old for a long time because of it I guess im going to find it hard after playing rF with you guys.

I hear you smokey, but I personally don't want GT to become more like rFactor or iRacing. For me, GT is a driving simulator. I just want to drive a variety of cars on a variety of tracks. GT5 is the only game I have ever played that has kept my interest for more than two years and primarily because of that, its my favorite and most played game of all time. I have been playing GT5 since November 2010, and I still look forward to getting back into it and driving more cars. The triple screens and more recently the Clubsport wheel (which works amazingly well with GT5) have breathed new life into the game for me. Both the seasonal events and the online multiplayer with the 2Old4Forza guys are still a hoot and I am so glad that will continue for a while.

First post updated with more info about the game. Most important news is that the demo is coming next week and that there are already pre-order incentives out there. I likely will go with the Game Stop deal, which will give me 20 cars in my garage to start. Remember, with Gran Turismo, when you get DLC cars, its not Forza like where they are just in your car dealer for purchase in-game. Rather, you actually get the cars without having to spend in-game currency on them.

I like what I've seen from gt6 so far 1200 cars is a bit excessive but hoping there's more actual race cars, tracks selection looks a lot better than forzas...I am pretty positive when I pick up a console more so for the kids it will be a play station next time around

My guess is that GT 7 doesn't come until at least 2017, if not further out. PS3 was released in December 2006, yet we did not get GT5 until November 2010. I expect a similar wait for GT 7. Drive Club looks good, but it ain't no Forza or GT killer.

I'll be picking it up, primarily because I don't intend to get one of the new systems for a while. I may not even mess with a PS4 until GT7 is ready.
