With the exception of the pace car being broken (not a concern for us), this is a really, really well made track and kudos to NoName (lol) for his work. As for the layout, yeah, it's super-technical to say the least. But we won't get many of those in a V8 supercar season without ALSO being surrounded by concrete walls on a street circuit... This track will be allow other drivers to potentially shine where they haven't before. I just hope tire wear is a little more reasonable than the past two races? And hey, Hawks wants to stay as close as possible to the real life schedule--so that's why we're here instead of the GP layout. What are you gonna do.

I'm not complaining, I'm having fun in this series regardless where we race. My comments are more about the real life guys anyway. They should have built some grandstands on the opposite side of the track and thought about having that being an alternate layout also.

I just uploaded a quick video I put together of an actual onboard lap comparison with a virtual lap. While it's clearly not perfect and the surrounding environment leaves a lot to be desired, the layout of the track itself is pretty close. Have a look.

DAMMIT!!! I spent an hour and half spinning my wheels getting absolutely no progress whatsoever. About to call it a night and decided just to look at my best lap which didn't even move me from 10th and that was pushing it. Looked at replay, saw some things and said "wait a minute here...". Got back into the game and IMMEDIATELY shaved a second and then another second in the span of 5 crappy laps which jumped me up to 6th. Too tired to smooth it out but I'm confident (sorta) that I can get it down to the low 1:32's and maybe even sniff a high 1:31(that's dreamland but maybe). That's one of those love/hate moments. Love that it finally clicked hate that I had to blow so much time and so much frustration just to get there.

Not very far at all. Actually though I was looking at my replay and saw where I was leaving a TON on the table.

I'm hearing an awful lot of belly aching going on around here. We are not immune from the affliction that has spread across the sim racing community. We are the biggest bunch of whiners I have ever known, even though we get a lot of this stuff for free, and when we have to pay for it, we whine even more.

A weird thing happened after our last race. We had a bad storm come through and knock out the power. So Thursday night I go to fire up rfactor and the v8 cars/mod is no longer working. The orsm folder was there but the cars would not load. Well I went on vacation last week and had to reinstall the v8 mod and do some minor tweaks got it working again and finally got some laps in. I am going to have to squeeze in a ton of laps in a short amount of time.

I've had mods get corrupted a few times. I don't know what causes it but a reinstall usually fixes things.

I guess that is why it is a good idea to use rfactor lite and install each mod separately.
