New short course download ready (see above post). This will overwrite the full course GBR version that is in the track pack. The lap count has been revised to 35 laps to account for the shorter course.
Do not cut through the esses (Turns 2 through 5). The game will not give any track warnings, but stewards will be reviewing both the qualifying and the race replays and will assess penalties for those who do. To avoid a possible penalty, you must give back any time and/or positions gained because of it.

Sacrilege! Heathen! How dare you speak ill of CoTA! Actually not sure how the "short" version will play out. I really like the full version. Cheers!

I didn't like it either the long version or the new short but after turning a bunch of laps last night it's not a bad track. It does have some flow to it.

If you ask me the other half of the track would have been a better V8Supercar section.

I'm hearing an awful lot of belly aching going on around here. I know this track is a HUGE change from the past couple races. This one will test both your skill and patience big time. I agree, this is one of the most technical tracks we've ever run. You gotta love turn 1. You can't try to overdrive the car here as you will pay with serious tire degradation and lap time loss. There are multiple corners you have to hit just right, then it throws in a couple blind corners as if that wasn't tough enough already. Please take the time to practice this one and learn it well. If you don't, it will be an hour of pure frustration come race time.

My thing with the track is some sections seem more difficult than real life. Turn 1 for instance, I was watching an onboard hot lap in real life in a V8 car and you were able to see the road better than what we can see in the game.

Try raising your seat up a bit or moving it forward. That video you posted seems to be taken from a few inches above the driver's eyes.
T1 in this version isn't perfect but RR1 added some tire stacks to help you locate the apex (those don't exist in real life). In real life, walking up that hill, you don't see that apex until you're pretty close to it.
This version of the track isn't perfect but it's the same for all of us. Many rF tracks aren't perfect... we just have to adjust to that.
