Race 1 had lots of hard but clean door-to-door racing between us. Race 2 unfortunately, Nick was a bit rougher with a few guys, BUT I think it had more to do with his lag than his driving, considering how clean he was in Race 1. In Race 2 his ping was around 300 and his car was doing a fair bit of floating and blinking--hard to race with, so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Yeah, really enjoyed the racing. It must have been my ping because I felt like I was get "beaten up" a bit on track but it may have been me lol. I know in one of the abandoned races that I hit someone hard going into the right hander which I redressed down the straight. Really enjoyed the night, my blowout in Race 2 cost me a fair bit of time limping back to the pits as I'd hammered my tyres in the first stint, managed to bring home the tyres with 18% tread in the 2nd stint. All in all, enjoyed the racing and company and am thrilled with a 1st and 3rd on my GBR debut In relation to the track cams, I've always felt this was FVR's weak point with their tracks. Just wondering if you could import the CAM files from the "other" Hidden Valley.... hmmmm something to try Nick

I tried the only other version's cam file that I know of and unfortunately it didn't work well. Looks like the cars are floating in space.

Started looking through the replays to get highlights. Unfortunately, the track side cameras are horrible. Probably the worst I've ever seen. They bounce all over the place and are facing the wrong way several times during a lap. With the current CAM file, there is no way I will be able to put together a watchable highlight video. Is anyone handy with editing the CAM file for the track? Here is the top 10 qualifying overlay so you can see what I mean. ya when I initially complained how ugly this track was I forgot to mention that the cameras are useless for watching lol sorry mate

Yeah, I tried as well, I also tried a couple of different things that didn't work - it's just the trigger points and FOV settings in the CAM that need attention. I've previously made lots of changes to CAM files but have never been able to master these trigger points!

Congrats to the winners and podium finishers.
In practice I just couldn't find any pace and had not even tried the intermediates. So race time was fun!
Qualy I did a PB but still off the pace. After the final start I got into a good position and tried to hang on but slipped wide on a corner lost a few positions. Managed to gift a few more spots to fast guys.
Race 2: Got another good start and managed to avoid some carnage moving up a few more spots. Going into the race on softs I realistically didn't have a real pit strategy. I set it up for a one stopper but barely made it to lap 14 with no front tire left. So decided it was going to be 2 stopper now and took fuel out to compensate and................forgot to check damage which I now had to fix. Drove like a bat out of hell knowing I was going to be coming in again. After the second stop I just lost too much track position to make it back up even with fresh tires.
I really need to work on the pit part of these races because that is killing me.

Even with the poor cameras it still looks cool....only because I ended up in P1 and got the absolute last lap in after the checkers fell.....LOL

Congrats to our podium finishers! Right afterwards I was going to say something about your #2 finishes John. Man you've got to be frustrated. Hang in there I'm sure luck is headed your way. You'll get it. Well its safe to say, I can't drive on inters. As soon as I get to driving in over my head- off I go. Oh well, still had fun in race 1. Race 2 - felt more competitive and managed a 2 stopper. Had an absolute great time racing Chris, Kevin and Dan. I dunno Dan, kind of want to laugh but won't, you have the coolest way of losing it (if there is such a thing LOL) I'd be right there and all of the sudden it starts to go then it does go and I don't see a snap back, it just goes all so gracefully. That's worth style points there Too bad though, had one hell of fight at one point. Oh well, will try again next time. Off to Townsend, new to me so we'll see. And a special thanks to all of you putting these vids together. Its very cool and much appreciated.

Here are the highlights from the Hidden Valley races. This one took me forever because I had to learn how to re-do the cameras since they were so bad on this track.

Very nicely done Sir. I really enjoyed watching that one. The announcer really got into it, and made it even more enjoyable to watch.

Well done and my check in to find this video was perfect coffee break timing! Looks like you're a master of cam editing now!

Surprisingly good with what you had to work with! I think you need to use more onboard/bumper cams all the time, personally.

Thanks for the comments guys. I try to "get into it" with each broadcast, but not always easy. By the way, in NO WAY am I a master cam editor. It was a PITA and future track selections will be required to have decent trackside cameras. I would like to learn how to edit tracks like Bence did for the COTA track. Just to tweak something here or there would be nice.

a great track builder would look at every aspect of the track. but the sad truth is there are more track builder. that care less and just wanna throw crap out there. and you can easily spot those builder out. bad camera , and A,I, cars that don't drive right. braking in the straight always and not stinking to any kind of race line. Bad builders lol!!!
