I hopped on the server last night for some tire strategy testing. I ran the inters to see just how long they will last vs. how long the softs will last. I was very happy with how long the inters last and I was running very consistent times. When I switched to the softs I was running faster but not as fast as I would like to have gone and I was having some trouble staying consistent. I think I have worked out a pretty good tire strategy but this is going to be interesting. You can get away with a one stop on inters but you will be significantly slower than on softs. So I don't see anybody going that route, just because doing a one stop won't make up for the time lost from running on inters. Since this is such a short and fast track the right front will go much faster than the rest of the tires. Good luck to everyone, this is going to be a crazy race. Pretty sure lots of paint will be traded throughout this race.

Well... no pace and little thought to race strategy meant I rolled the dice on 1-stop soft tire strategy and decided to see what came of it. I knew I'd save 20 seconds for each additional pit stop the leaders did... the question was how much time would I give up on the worn tires? It worked almost until Armando paid me back by sniping my podium on the last lap. I can't be angry about that. What goes around comes around.

First of all, thank you guys for restarting the race and allowing me to get back on after I lost connection. Qualified poorly, but not because I was much slower than normal but because all you punks are getting too fast! Started 10th. Went with a 2 stop strategy - ran 14 laps on softs, then planned two 20 lap stints on softs but an inter on the right front. Don't think it made me any faster than when I practiced on inters, but felt ok and did get into the high 8's a couple times on them. Was running in 3rd and screwed up with about 8 or 9 laps to go and Dale closed the gap to about 3 seconds. I was able to stretch it out to about 6 or 7 seconds and thought I had a podium locked up as long as I didn't muck it up. Well, the Sandown gods didn't shine down upon me and got the dreaded "CONNECTION LOST" on lap 50. Podium to 20th in the blink of an eye. Overall I really enjoyed this track after all. Made for some good racing and was fun and sometimes nerve wracking getting through all the traffic. Everyone I was around did a great job. The racing just keeps getting better and better here at GBR. Thanks again for everyone that came out and look forward to seeing you all at THE MOUNTAIN in 2 weeks!
