Yeah, understood. I saw the same press clipping. I have been told by unofficial sources that the actual pedal set does have a clutch.

one thing I don't understand is why xbox always use priority (spelling?) stuff? $ The consoles are said to be sold at near break-even or even at a loss. The money is made from accessory licensing and game sales.

The money is made from accessory licensing and game sales. That is what I have read as well, but I think the Sony strategy is better. It is consumer friendly, since you can use your older, last gen stuff, but then they also can do the licensing thing, like they did with wheels for Gran Turismo, including the DFGT and the T500. I seriously do not believe that Sony and Thrustmaster lost many T500 sales even though older wheels work with the PS3. Rather, people like myself spent $350-$600 on a T500 set, even if their older, cheaper wheel also worked. All M$ is doing with its licensing scheme for wheels and pedals is encourage folks like me to go PS4.

They stuck to their guns with HD DVD instead of BluRay and they were soooo wrong. What's really funny is how most PS3 wheels (and probably PS4) are compatible with PCs, which run M$ Windows, and Xbox wheels don't.

ya its been said too that the new PS4 controller is fully compatible with PC (save using programs like Joystick Pro) to get it to work, not 100% sure but it will be good if true (for me) lol as I aint no KB & Mouse man.

I have an Xbox one reserved but this wheel situation might have me selling it.

I don't plan to drive on a console ever again... my One will be for the g/f (Netflix and LEGO) and my FIFA games, Bioshock, Halo, etc.

I don't have any plans to buy the XBone either. If there is another GTA game for the next gen consoles, I would probably get a PS4.

Same here, the thought of going back to drive on a single screen...well just ain't going to happen. Top off that with the crazy low prices of PC gaming, never having been much of a day one buyer of games I am happy to wait for sales, I'm a little hard pushed to justify the cost of another console...I already have next gen graphics, next gen games and perfectly good peripherals to game with. IF I was getting F5 I would lose wheel, button box, display, pedals...and two screens.
No last time I gave up on PC gaming the console made sense, I had been on that old PC upgrade treadmill for too long and the console offered better specs by quite a margin, but this time it doesn't and the gaming rig is mainly for sim racing, so maybe one more graphics card upgrade, maybe a CPU and I'm set for the next few years for rF2 and any other sim we may want to play with.

I think it is now official. No Fanatec or other non-Xbox One exclusive racing wheels and pedals will work with Xbox One:

While it sucks if you play on multiple platforms, at least there ARE wheel offerings for the platform which is a good thing for our Forza fans.
