Hmm....Iam a bit torn I've been thinking lately of which one to buy. Reason being I think the power of the new consoles will bridge the physic gap and lack of ffb of old consoles and I like mindless shooters on consoles better. I started with Sony than switched to 360 and had a lot of fun with the forza series and met all of you but this wheel thing and the sour taste t10 left may be the decision maker. My gt3 rs is compatible with the sony, pcars will be available on both...only issue is I don't know many with sonys.....maybe it wasn't the deciding factor lol I've decided instead of upgrading my rig and spending big $$$ to run triples iam gonna ditch the triples and get a nice hd projector and run a super FOV setup which will be compatible with both console and pc. Been watching a few YouTube videos and it looks hella cool like your driving in the car. $500 for a projector or a $1000 for a Titan and a stretched smaller picture?
But anyways ATM iam leaning towards play station but I miss the creativity of forza tuning/painting and hoping on any time of the day and shooting the shit for hrs with folks.

While it sucks if you play on multiple platforms, at least there ARE wheel offerings for the platform which is a good thing for our Forza fans. Good point Kelly, I just do not understand the proprietary angle. It seems to me that M$ can tab these two wheels as the "official" wheels for Forza 5, but still allow older wheels to work via USB. They can tout that those wheels are not "officially supported" and thus that we should buy the new stuff. That is essentially Sony's strategy. The Logitech Driving Force GT and the Thrustmaster T500RS were the only "official" wheels for Gran Turismo 5, yet Sony still allowed older and newer wheels, including all Fanatec offerings, to work. I just do not understand why M$ is essentially refusing to take my $560, by making my wheel and pedal set incompatible with the Xbox One.

Aren't those cars all the same anyway, just as the Chevy, Ford and Toyota Gen6 NASCAR Sprint Cup cars are identical as to specs? I understand that F1 cars are different from team to team, and thus their performance is very different, but isn't that because the teams have much more latitude as to how they can build the car?

the main difference is the motors realistically for V8sc Ford & Holden are different but basically same motors they been running since V8sc started (OHV, Pushrod ones 302ci other is 304ci etc) all rest like Nissan use OHC V8 but they had to add weight to actual blocks & Merc using their 'flatplane' (I think) V8, now Volvo are gonna use an (old) Yamaha motor. but ya other than motor they are pretty well identical in all other drivetrain & chassis just different bodies but equal downforce packages. BUT IT IS STILL a HOLDEN lol

Me neither, but I do love the paint job on that Ford Falcon. I take it back. It is possible that I will have an Xbox One on launch day, depending on whether the local game store gets a big enough allocation. Whether I get in at launch or shortly thereafter, I will be buying Ryse and Forza 5. I have gone back and forth about the Xbox One and Forza 5. I am encouraged by the IGN review, in which the reviewer notes that the new FFB features in the Xbox One controller helped him better feel what the car was doing. I am now giddy with anticipation....

So, since I really like Ryse Son of Rome, and because every time I see videos of Forza 5 my mouth waters, I am thinking I will go with the Xbox One, even if it means I am stuck playing Forza 5 with a controller. I know, I know, I did not stick to my guns...

I think u have a minor video game addiction....what don't you own ? Well, a lot actually. With the great purge of the last year or so, I no longer own a PS2, Xbox, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo 64, Super NES, NES, Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, Sega NOMAD and Sega Dreamcast. With only a couple of exceptions, I no longer own any games for any of these systems. I still own a 360, but my son is the only one that uses it anymore, and so I traded in most of my games. We have a Wii U, but the kids play it, except when they need my help to pass a level. I still have my PS3, but I traded in most of my games for it as well.

I don't know about this... when I played FM5 what struck me was the steering was touchy because the thumbsticks have a lot less resistance. Also the vibrating triggers were neat but I don't think they provided information beyond what my eyes and ears were telling me - though it could be that it was so new that I needed time to understand what the vibration was telling me. Also I was playing the game demo, not a full release. FM5 felt like FM4 with a new controller.

for a racing game adding nuanced ffb to a controller is like adding lipstick to ...

I see what they're doing though... instead of determining understeer through tire noise and car yaw you'll feel a certain waveform, oversteer may be another effect, etc.
