Fun races for me too! Thanks for allowing a new guy to race. GBR runs a great show and listening to everyone on TeamSpeak was amusing to say the least. Half the fun is listening to the jokes and the "oh shit" type comments. Nick was simply unstoppable and truly impressive. Aussie guys really know their cars, since pretty much the only time I've driven V8Factor before was with EAOutlaws on Friday nights a few years ago (well, Saturday mornings at 3am PST!) after multiple cocktails. I got blown away there of course and probably didn't do us Yanks' reputations any favors. This time I worked on my setup without being over .08 on the breathalyzer for a few nights and it paid off. Hooper was awesome to race with, but I think he cooked his tires in race 1 while I was on his tail and he locked 'em up going into 3. Mistakes were pretty much the only way to pass. I had a lot of fun racing with or catching up to Culbert in both races and I thought he was joking about having to make two stops during the soft tire race. Turns out a lot of people did that, even Nick. And he still blew us all away. On to Brno, a track that is not on my top 100 list...

Thanks again for another great start to what I am sure will be another great season. I screwed myself out of finishing better but when I was going I had some close races with Ced. Congrats to the podium finishers.

Last night was great kicking off the series. Definitely had a lot of fun last night, great stuff. I wasn't fast at all but it was fun battling where I was at. Dumb mistakes kept killing me last night but at least I tried to keep them down to a minimum. You guys gotta check out the replays. Seeing those cars get at it on the drop of the flag is a beautiful thing to see. THE SEASON IS ON!!!!

I'm sorry to have had to missi this race due to connection issues. I will even practice for the next one. I only loaded the mod and track pack earlier in the evening, so all things considered to be as quick as I was before the race made me happy, so I will see you guys at the next one after some practice laps

I'm surprised mine held up as good as it did. I think these temperature fluctuations here in the NE has been wracking havoc on the cable companies infrastructure. I think it was the night before I was on with Hawks and all and my connection was showing signs of trouble then. Infact earlier the cable went out altogether for about 5 minutes and was stuttering after and before.

I hope Adelaide was a bit of an aberration or I don't think the championship is gonna be nearly as close as last time--Nick demolished us!
In Qualifying I was at one point up .5, so I maybe just MAYBE had a shot at pole, but likely still would have been a few tenths off him. But in Race trim I had nowhere near the consistency, I am absolutely melting my tires. Race 1 went as good as it could have, Zeke and Jeff having similar pace to me, just didn't have anyone to race with as Nick disappeared by nearly a second a lap. I'm decent on Inters.
On Softs it was a complete disaster, I tried to do a 10/8/8 two stopper but the last two laps on red tires were so bad that I was 3 seconds or so off the pace, and I guess that's where Nick went from 7-8 seconds to 20 seconds ahead after I finished my pit stop. Once I got the lead I then foolishly attempted to stretch the tires to the end, my lap times plummeted and once I came out I was a distant 6th.
Oh well. Gotta RE-learn the tires all over again this season. Looking forward to the global tracks.

First of all, thanks to everyone that participated. Even though we were missing a couple regulars, we still had a solid turnout of 22 drivers. Sounds like we had some great battles throughout the field. My first race started off ok, but after tailing Chris for a few laps, I tapped his rt rear bumper entering turn 4 and it was enough to spin him around. Bad spot so I waited for him to get himself turned around to give him his spot back in front of me, but pretty much ruined both our races. I apologize and I'm still kicking myself for that one. Chris did return serve later in the race, which I deserved. 2nd race went much better. I trailed Jeff for several laps as we had about the same pace. I was setup to try a 1 stopper, but figured I would likely have to go with 2. The tires held up better than I thought, so decided to go with 1. Came out of the pits in 5th or 6th about 4 sec behind Cameron. I would pull within 3.5 sec or so, but he had better pace than I and I could never reel him in any closer. Rich rode my tail for the entire 2nd half of the race. He would get within a half sec or so, then I would stretch it to 1.5 or so, then he'd be right back on my bumper. Great racing and kept me on my toes the entire time. Ultimately finished in 3rd. Took me until the end of last season to finally get a podium, so glad to get back up there again as chances will be few and far between with the caliber of drivers we have here. Big congrats to Nick on his domination of both races. He was in a completely different time zone than the rest of the field. Oh wait, he really is in a completely different time zone and he races upside down. Maybe that's his secret. Nice to get back in the saddle and look forward to seeing you all at Brno in 2 weeks.

Last night was pretty darn tame I thought.

Hey guys, I want to say thanks for inviting me to participate in the V8 racing and enjoyed the hell out of the opener... Hope I stayed out of everyone's way and am super happy to have finished the second race... Glad to have you part of the series Geoff. Just watch out for that guy named Jimmy (aka Neverender). He'll run your arse right off the track.

I've always loved this track and I guess it showed last night. Leading up to the race I thought some were hiding their real pace (Jeff & John especially). I was surprised by my pace to be honest and don't think it will be reflective of the season, Never the less, it's a great way to start the season and I'm very happy. I know the longer races with soft tyres will be a challenge for me (as they were last year) as well as 4 of the next 5 tracks being new to me. Was great to be back racing after what seems an eternity, good to see my new team mate Tony had a couple of great finishes, Jason seems to have found some speed also, and welcome and congrats to Cameron on a great first up showing with 2 podiums on debut! See you all at Brno in 2 weeks Read more: gbr.proboards.com/thread/3159/read-v8-custom-list?page=1&scrollTo=48803#ixzz2pxNktbhc

Points: It's late, I'll double check for errors tomorrow We use the standard V8SC points table modified to allow more drivers.

After reviewing the vids, a couple of apologies are in order on my part. At the start of second race I tagged Tony's left rear quarter panel going into turn 3, sending him into the runoff. Later in same race we had a good battle going on at the rear in the back straight when KV got into the wall. Sheldon slowed down to avoid and I went right, passing Sheldon and square into KV, spinning him out. Sorry guys. First event was a lot of fun and only one restart. Turn 3 was a killer.
