The final race of the season at the pinnacle of all race tracks. Hope to see you all there so we can go out with a bang! (figuratively speaking)

Roll call for one of the best tracks ever made for rFactor! And it's the last chance we'll get to race V8's with GBR for a couple of weeks or months.
I'll be there and I hope enough people show up so we can do the full 35 lap event. If only I could weld on some nerf bars for the inevitable crunching into the wall around Skyline...

Yeah I think we need to do some type of mass email to all the people that have raced at least once in the V8's this season to join in. I have told my boss Geoff aka heartburn to get his sh!t together and come out. He loves Bathurst. I told him last week to give him 2 weeks to prepare.

I may actually have to practice for this one. I don't believe I just said that. I need to try to finish w/in a couple spots of Jeff...because I know I'm not going to beat him here. I'll be there for sure in the Dyson Racing/Thetford Ford Falcon.

While The Mountain has never been good to me, it's still the second greatest racetrack in the world. So here's hoping for a good turnout.

Sending out this mass email to all GBR members: Come one come all.....
The season finale of the V8 Supercars Championship is on June 11th. We will race 35 laps at one of the most epic tracks, Bathurst. I am personally reaching out to all of the great racers at GBR to invite you to attend this event. The series will be put on hold over the summer months while we re-evaluate things (and take a break) and I would love to go out with a "bang", figuratively speaking of course. So even if you haven't been able to race with us much or at all this season, I would really appreciate it you can join us. Attendance has dropped I would love to see 20+ cars out there for this awesome event. And if I sounds like I'm begging....well I pretty much am. If you think you can make it, please throw a post up over at: gbr.proboards.com/thread/3470/v8-supercars-event-12-bathurstSincerely, Jason Hawks

I will be there. No time for practice with everything that is going on here at home. But I would not miss it.

Love the track but have never completed a race here (my first attempt was in V8's with an Aussie outfit and IIRC lasted about 5 seconds - i was a VERY green online driver).
I would love the chance to try this out - what chance of entering?
And any tips on these V8's? I find them a slippery lot.

Of course, the race is open to all registered members. Tips? It's a powerful, heavy car with so-so grip and suspension that's better suited for farm machinery. Get your braking done in a straight line, turn in and get on the gas (carefully). These cars change quite a bit with tuning so you should be able to make it work with your driving style (mine is to soften the rear quite a bit). Pit strategy can really mix things up... there are soft and intermediate tires so there will be cars on track running at different pace. This is the season finale and we've got battles up and down the table so keep an eye on your mirrors if you're getting lapped.

You are more than welcome to jump in Kit. We have set aside some cars for drop ins. If you are a Ford man, you can use the Tony D'Alberto Racing (Wilson Security) #3 car. If you are more of a Holden guy, you can use the Jack Daniels Racing #15 car.
Of course if we get more drop ins, we can easily find a car for anyone interested as there are several others that were previously reserved that aren't getting used.
I would be happy to send you a setup if needed.

Thanks guys and thanks for the advice re driving the thangs Dale.
I am a Ford man so would like to keep a Ford as my machine of choice. Is there a performance difference with the cars?
I shall get on the server tonight and do some laps and see what time I am short. If I can be competitive I will definitely, work commitments allowing, be there.
If you could send me a setup Jason it would be great too please.
