OK, all sorted now. It wasn't the mods or tracks... it was his Norton suite. After we finished testing some obvious things Hawks picked the correct solution. I guess Norton was cutting the data flow to rFactor after deciding it was a threat. TeamSpeak was unaffected... so it wasn't his entire connection being cut... just rFactor.

I didn't have issues w/ Historix on the main install. That's how I was running it up until the new v1.9 came out. Anywhos, moot point here.

Computers are such a pain in the ass. Kinda like a woman. They have a problem and you go nuts trying to figure it out and turns out to be something so simple. Oh well, glad it is working now.

You have to remember this is not x-box, so 9 x out of 10. the issue is at your end. Especially if there are 10 guys not having issues and you are. Just saying. So don't blame the game.

I was doing the downloads manually. I think this is the problem with me. Last night I was unable to load Vanport ,the screen show a Mas file error. So this morning I installed the 1click client installer and NOW Vanport loaded without issues. Watkings track did it manually too. Hope nothing happen next race.

So this morning I installed the 1click client installer and NOW Vanport loaded without issues. Watkings track did it manually too. Hope nothing happen next race. Some of the tracks we use are not found on rfactorcentral.com. I have uploaded all of the Season 4 tracks through SimSync. I have posted the instructions below. GBR Simsync filedl.dropbox.com/u/43889266/GBR%20Simsync.rarInstructionsStep #1Download the GBR SimSync rar file (listed above). After the download has finished, put both files found in this archive into your main rFactor folder that you are using to run the V8 mod. Click on SimSyncPro.exe to launch the program (if running Windows 7, run as administrator). An auto-updater might pop up, in that case, let it do the update. The password is the same as our normal password (the one we use to get into the server in game). Step #2Click on 'Show Available rFactor Series' and you'll see the 'Gone Broke Racing' series. Select this only, then press 'Start' on the bottom right. Synchronisation is now under way and a message will pop-up when the synchronisation is complete. Now you are finished and ready to race. TroubleshootingQ. SimSyncPro is having problems starting A. Make sure to right-click SimSyncPro and 'run as Administrator' Q. SimSyncPro starts in German and I do not understand German. A. You can select your preferred language by clicking 'Optionen', then scrolling to 'Sprache' and selecting your desired language. Q. I am having difficulty downloading in SimSync A. Try checking the 'Prefer Main Server' option under Options Q. I get some sort of '550' error. A. Keep trying, eventually this problem corrects itself or see above. Q. Sync terminates with 'error' on last file. A. Simply start sync again, it will sync only the last file. Q. I have a mismatch or am booted as 'possible cheat' A. You should execute SimSyncPro before joining every event

The game costs $20, total. That means that it is going to lack some features that come with far more expensive sim racers, such as iRacing. As I noted last night, I am in to iRacing for somewhere between $300 and $400 and the content still pales in comparison to rFactor. I got booted last week from the first race, and I just hung out for a while and worked on my broken Elite wheel. I have been DQ'd before and have not expected the race to be restarted for me, since the DQ was on my end. PC sim racing is the best, but there are lots of variables, many of which are beyond the control of the game, or our hard working stewards.

Not counting Fantomas I saw some disconnects last night. Were any of those random or were they ragequit?
The infrastructure upgrades are supposed to be done here in a couple of weeks. It's too bad I didn't get some warning from the ISP... this work being done during March Madness was a surprise to me.

Someone (Spaz?) offered to remotely connect to your PC and check a few things. I suggest you take him up on that if for nothing else then to be shown how to manually install tracks. You'll have to do that eventually so it's good to know where things go.

I think one of the most important things is to keep your mods completely isolated from each other and use the provided links in the threads here to download tracks and othe resources. Not only are you getting what the series requires you to get but for troubleshooting, it helps eliminate unnecessary steps as your install is consistent.
Cheers!
