Fantomas gets kicked from the race server

I was kicked out several times from the practice lobby after One lap. Never had this problem with Vanport practice. Any ideas ?

Watkings race : Tire wear set to Normal ? Fuel set to Normal ?

Normal for both.

I can't see why you're getting kicked out in the server logs. It's not indicating a mismatch or anything. If you're able to drive a lap before being kicked my guess would be you ping is too high. I'd need to see you in a session to observe that.

In plain english fantamos is means maybe a problem has developed with your internet since the last race? Are you being limited (throttled) by your internet provider or maybe they are doing some work in your area. Sounds like something is up....

Ping 10 MS Download is 45 mb/s and upload is 4.25 mb/s
and i'm on cable internet

I wonder where the practice server is based out of I'd be interested in seing my results based on a server close to that area....

Just a couple of hops from Vancouver BC. I sometimes look at the ping readout on the rFactor server app while we race... It's around 150 ms usually.

We have the server's IP address listed in the Server forum. From a Windows command line do:

ping <ip address>

or

tracert <ip address>

Vancouver server from speed test returned...
Ping 45 MS Download of 54 MB/S and upload of 3.8 mb/s
But of course that varies on internet traffic/time of day...

What exactly happens when you're kicked out? Do you see anything in the Message Center (bottom left of the screen while racing)? Is there any lag (cars jumping around) or synchronization (you'll see a message about that)?

There were several of us on the server for a couple of hours last night with no problems so I know the server is running OK. Around 2AM Eastern you would have been booted because my ISP was doing maintenance last night but that's the only strangeness yesterday.

I think this may have been Saturday evening that Fantomas was getting booted. I know I was on practicing (Jarhead may have also been on practicing at that time also) when he joined several times but seemed to leave after only a lap or two.
I had no problems with the practice lobby at the time and there was nothing on the Monitor screening indicating a problem, just that Fantomas had joined the game and then left the game

Yes, I was on practicing at the same time with Sheldon. We were talking to each other wondering why Fantomas kept joining and leaving the session. He finally was able to complete a couple of laps and set the fastest lap so far to that time. Stinky wasn't to happy about it when he got on.

Sounds like the issue is probably on Fantamos's end. I've had no issues with the server lately, except for sync issues occasionally.

I have not had any trouble with getting booted, except when our practice session ended abruptly on Saturday night, just as I was about to pass Seahawks! LOL! I also have occasionally gotten a sync message, including on Saturday night.

Sorry for the late response, I just adopted a new cat. Was busy.

After one hotlap ,I have a message on the bottom left : Connection lost. It's happens all the time . Vanport practice/race had no problems. Watkins track I downloaded from some forum, maybe that's the problem. That's why you guys saw me going in and out the last couple days. I am getting the track from rfactor central and try it tonight. Also I did the speedtest 3 times and the result was : Ping 12ms , Download speed 22.69 , upload speed 4.25 . Now, what these numbers mean.......don't know.

I know this will be fixed, like the game , I will stay with rfactor. See ya tonight ....maybe.

The safe bet for download location is the links in the first post here, and in the download area for V8SCs. Some tracks have several versions made be different people, and you will get a track mismatch if it is not the same one that is on the server.

I wouldn't wait until race day if I was you. You should get on tonight, there will probably be other people on. Make sure you have teamspeak on so people can help you out.
