I'm sure you all know this, but the only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. And I know a bunch of us here have some expensive ones.

I played GTA V on my Xbox One this morning before I came to work. It obviously looks much better than the PS3 version that I also own. The graphics are much smoother and there are far less jaggies and stuttering, particularly during the car scenes. The first person mode is fricking awesome, I like it much better than third person mode. Shooting is much easier, as is driving. Driving took some adjustment, since I am so used to using a wheel and pedal set, but I eventually got the hang of it with the controller. I wish my TX wheel would work with GTA V for the car scenes. Anyway, the Xbox One controller works a lot better for me than the PS3 controller. I had forgotten how much I love this game, this time around I need to actually get far enough in it in order to do some missions with Trevor. I have not seen him since the bank robbery that landed Michael in prison.

I definitely didn't put a lot of time into testing/tweaking but my 360 wireless wheel was horrible with GTA V. I don't think the controls were programmed for a wheel... IIRC there was a huge dead spot at centre.
Maybe that's improved in the XB1 version, though. It's all academic now though... I don't have a wheel for that console and I gave away my 360 wheel.

Picked up Far Cry4 today, and while I was there, I talked myself into GTA 5 again. So now I have it for PS3 and PS4, they were out of the XB1 version.

Very true...My latest is this linkAlso pondering on the next console, mostly because I want a Blue Ray player and may as well get a console that does gaming too for shits and giggles. Still not made up my mind on what to go for.

Does the ps4 need a online subscription as well ? Yes, they use the same scheme as X-Box dose now. @ Paul. I have both machines and I think the Blu-ray player on the PS4 is better. The XB1 version needs a software download to work, and after pausing a vid, the sound was off a bit. It fixed it's self on the next disc. PS4 had no software download and seems to work fine no matter what. So as far as a movie player, PS4 is the way to go in my opinion. Now games are another story, I think XB1 has some of the best brand only games.

Gaming on console has very much been taken over by PC for me these days anyway and after all this time it might be interesting to see how the other half lives...and I will probably end up with both sooner or later.

PS3 was the benchmark BR player for many years. It's likely that the PS4 continues that.

It's a gas Sheldon, though I confess I am still very nervous launching €1300 into the air. But so far so good. In other news I picked up a Bluray player the other day, second hand Samsung 3D player for 45 quid, seemed the logical choice, links flawlessly to our Samsung TV. Great picture, and works a treat so happy with that.
