And like almost everything in this world...what is good it doesnt remains good for a long time...  This LeMans aeropack available on the upgrades really is ruining A LOT of this Mod to me. The cars became unrealistic fast on straights without loose much time on slow sections...and even worse...it saves fuel...  The GTE cars are beating the P2s on a straight with this freaking anomaly, what the hell! I wish there is a way of ban this thing. Why why why.............  |

From what I've seen the GT's are right on almost to a T. For example, using the LeMans package, I was able to to hit 176 mph on the final straight heading into T1. Here is a screen cap from Tommy Milner from last year's 24 Hours of Daytona hitting exactly 176 during a practice session.  And here is my top speed last night at virtually the same spot while practicing with Dale and Dan.  Also, I checked qualifying results and the Vette ran a 1:44.729. So far my best lap using Super Softs 1:44.431 www.imsa.com/sites/default/files/race_result_files/TUDOR%20Daytona%20Qualifying.pdfI would say it doesn't get much closer than that. Remember, Simtek claims he used real data for these cars. If anything there may be an issue with the P2 cars, which I haven't tried yet. |

My research is the same. I did a lazy 1:47 on the Le Mans set upgrade. Jason and John are dead on the real world lap times for the C7.R. I know nothing about the regs for this real series but it's reasonable to assume that teams would run a special setup at this track.

The problem is not the numbers of Top Speed. Is the way you are achieving that.
LeMans aeropack is to use at LeMans only. At least that is the purpose.
People are using everywhere.
Simple because is faster.
The cars becomes difficult to drive, not feeling that great anymore, but faster. And of course all drivers will go for the faster option.
Even on Medium speed tracks people are using the "LeMans" aeropack. You hardly loose lap time with it, and becomes unbeatable on the straights. It forces everyone to use it, and the more difficult the cars are to drive, the better for aliens and etc. Is detrimental for competition.
I hate those dubious things, really.
Enduracers have nothing like that, gladly.

Needless to say there is huge argument at R2P about what to do with this situation.
They are running quite a few events with it, many drivers are giving up the Mod because those things.
Unfortunately I agree with them.
I will give it a few more trys. Although right now Im not overly enthusiastic about it.

Ok well after reading here and NOT knowing about the AERO package, I decided to give it a try. All I will say is look at live timing and see how much faster I am with this package. Almost 1.5 seconds faster then my previous best with the normal package. Same set up only aero package difference.
