I finally ran some laps with this mod (in the Ford and Volvo). I think we could have a fun series but there are a few things that jump out at me:
- rFactor FF and RealFeel both worked for me but both suffer from the same FF problem as the WES mod. Mainly a numb FF feel with a centre dead spot and an overly strong constant spring effect. I can't feel what the front tires are doing. If anyone is feeling different with a CSW V1 or V2, I'd like to see your controller.ini
- The cars feel like generic GT cars. They are easy to drive and I don't get a sense of that "about to kill you" thing that I expect from a V8 Supercar. I can get the front to go exactly where I want it and I can floor the accelerator out of corners. Obviously, I can overcook either of those things in extreme cases but the limits of that envelope are way far away.
With that said, the mod should produce some fun and close racing so I'm not suggesting that it's bad or anything.

Using a G27 I dont have the problems that Dale said about the FFB. To me feels nice and steady. For the FFB of the WES Mod I too have weird reactions, but not with this Mod. About the handling, I think if you compare those cars to the ORSM V8 car, they for sure will feel easier and a lot more forgiven. But to me the cars from the ORSM are way, way too much over the top with the difficulty, with wheel spin. I never felt was right, and some professional drivers from the Game Stock Car bunch felt the same. Basically they said..."If a real race car was that extreme, most of us would be fucked"...lol. I think the way it is now it feels more close to the real thing, giving the right proportions. Well, at least that is what I think.

Hey Dale, I would agree with you but then we would both be wrong. Jk :-)

I have a T300 and was messing with the ffb settings last night. I thought it felt a bit weak so I installed realfeel and set the ffb on game to -55 and I thought it felt much better.
But yeah, well that's just like uh, my opinion man.

Dale: I don't notice the numb center you mention on my wheel. I spent more time with it last night and ran some laps around Winton. I still think it feels tons better without real feel. I set it to "heavy" in upgrades.
Here are my CSW V2 wheel settings.

Also, here is the setup I put together last night while testing if anyone wants to try it. I still need to make a few changes, but overall I'm pretty happy with how it feels. I would encourage others to share their setups as you never know what changes might make the mod feel better for someone. HAWKS WINTON.svm (3.68 KB)

FYI: I went in and changed the server to 3:00 pm virtual race time. I also changed practice, qualifying and warmup so it's consistent. I think the lighting looks much better this time of day in game.

I'd like to get a handle on this because right now my FF in this mod feels like I just have two bungee cords attached to either side of the wheel rim.
For those that are satisfied with the FF. Do you have effects in rF1 set to "Low" or something else?
For example, Low is the correct setting for Real Feel because Med and High introduce fake effects.

Mine are set to full ffb effects and -100% ffb strength. I also screen shot what the rates are set to. I haven't changed anything there. Did you make sure to completely remove the Real Feel plugin from the Plugins folder? Attachments:

Correction to one of my previous posts. I actually have the upgrade for steering set to heavy, not heavier. I tried heavier and there was a bit too much oscillation going down the straights. I have just been testing on Winton, so I will try out some other tracks as I know Winton is quite smooth. I may take it for a spin around Bathurst to put it to the test.

Did you make sure to completely remove the Real Feel plugin from the Plugins folder? Yes. I've been testing with and without RF. Full effects explains the differences we're getting. Med and Full activate canned effects in rF1. RealFeel was developed to replace those (which is why RF tells you to use Low, otherwise you get RF and rF1's effects together) with calculated effects based on input through the steering rack. I'll give the rF1 effects a try.

I just tested with RF and set ffb effects to low as you mentioned and you are exactly right, it feels like you have bungie cords attached on either side of the wheel. Stay away from RF on this mod.

I had my in game FFB setting to -100% and I was getting what Dale was talking about, so I changed it to +80% and that got rid of that weird FFB feeling.
