Some info for Snappy: we use TeamSpeak for our team chat but monitor and use the iRacing chat as needed. I have two PTT buttons on my wheel for that use.

Yeah, I just updated TS last night to get in the session with you guys. Just have to map a second button.

If you have a number we can text you at please send to me via PM and I'll add you to our list. We use text to let eveyone know if the schedule is changing due to repairs or someone can't make their timeslot. It's especially helpful for me as I'll typically run my stint then go out for brunch, come home, drive, take a nap, etc...
Boza, I need your number too.

Snappy was commenting on how long GT3 pitstops take. I watched one today and not only are fuel and tires done sequentially but tires are changed one at a time. Some stats from my testing of the McLaren:
Map 1 (fast): 3.75 L/lap Map 2 (econ): 3.20 L/lap
full pit stopped time (130L fuel + 4 tires): 106 seconds
Full laps on 130 L: 34 Stint at approx 1:46/lap: 1:01
So, with pit-in/pit-out and full service we're at about 1:05 per stint on Engine Map 1.

I'll get the spreadsheet started tomorrow. I'm fine w/ the Mclaren. Haven't driven it in ages, so it will be a nice change of pace from the Z4 that I'm running every other week.

Remember to add 15 min or so to the first stint. I *always* forget the warm-up and pace lap when scheduling these things!

Are we considering double stinting tires at all?

Most likely not, as we tend to run on the conservative side and play it safe. The exception might be during the final stop if we have significantly less than an hour to go.

I'm thinking about setting up a session and running a full stint. To see how the tires are at and how they feel at the end of a fuel run. Were we planning on running another practice together?

I jumped in a Team practice session that was open to anyone.
I started with a full fuel load and ran it dry. There weren't many C7 prototypes so I didn't come across them on track at all. I did mix it up with a couple of GT3 cars for a total of 5 or 6 laps out of the 32 laps that I ran. I came in with.9 gallons left. I did a fuel only stop then went out on the old tires. I did the out lap then spun in the bus stop on my first flyer. D'oh!
My best lap was a 1:45.257. My in lap was a 2:04 and my out lap was a 2:41.
Lesson: take tires! I should have broke earlier going into the bus stop because I could tell that the tires had cooled down but I didn't. Stupid me. However, they weren't worn down excessively.
As the fuel load lightened and the tires wore down it started to get a bit tail happy through the kink between the international horseshoe and the western horseshoe. So, beware.

Good to know, thanks for testing that.
I think we should get into a iRacing Practice session on Thursday night and reacquaint ourselves with driver changes. By then we should know who our starting driver is and I'd like that person to initiate the session, register the team, etc. He should also just whip up a preset red/white/black iRacing paint scheme so that we're not driving a white car!

I have to work Thursday night. Won't be able to make that but you guys should still run. I'm around tonight but I can't set up Team sessions. I'll be around all night so if anyone wants to get together just shoot me a text or PM.

I can't make it tonight but maybe someone can run through the procedure with you on an iRacing Practice session. No need to set up our own server for that.
I can be available tomorrow night. If all else fails we can do it Wed after the GBR race as well.

I read the rules as that we split/grid based on the best qualifying time of the drivers registered at the session launch. Since I don't plan on being up at 5AM I propose that one of the East Coasters that intends to be there for the start (either race or spot) sets our quali time. Not Boza though because he'll put us in a high split. Sheldon or one of the Daves?
