Race starts Saturday morning, right? I can do it but if it's open qualifying and I catch a draft I may hit the 1:44's. Do we want to be in that territory?
Also, doesn't the driver who qualified have to start the race? Thought I read that somewhere.

Chances are good that Sheldon will lead us off again given his timezone so perhaps he should qualify to be sure.

Another note, please have buttons or dial mapped for fuel trim. Initial mapping based on 1:05 run time puts us 10 minutes shy at the finish. This will likely fluctuate as the race progresses, but we may look at conservation at various stages of the race to attempt to hit the window and avoid a splash and dash at the finish.

And also, speak up if you aren't comfortable with double stinting (driver, not tires). As per past runs, the initial plan will be to schedule drivers for 2 double stint drive times. If you're not comfortable, it's not a problem, we just need to know so we can schedule accordingly.

My times are in. FYI, I don't need a spotter other than at the start of my shift as I come up to speed. Although I don't mind the company is someone wants to visit, I will be double stinting and just typically just load some driving music and get into a zone for the two hours. Yeah, you can also set this in via In-Car tuning with a few extra clicks. If history is any indication, in the last 2 or 3 stints we always start working the fuel numbers to try and avoid an extra pitstop so be prepared to go into eco-hippy mode.

Boza, I need your number too. 26. Have we decided on a set up yet?

I'm not planning on driving the last few stints as I plan to be on the pitbox running numbers figuring out where we need to be. I'll drive towards the end if I have to, but would rather not because of that.

I am going to try and hop on a server tomorrow night that doesn't have teams to simulate a full tank run and evaulate tire wear. No disrespect to Snappy but I am the tire conservation master... I want to see what happens when I go back out on a set. If anyone else is around and wants to practice, watch for me on TS around 7:00.

Have a go, but based off what I saw in last nights league race (90 minutes), I'll be planning on tires. We were running at Motegi w/ a 65ish% fuel capacity cap (43 minute run time on full tank), and the cars that took tires were running noticeably quicker at the end than the guys that didn't.
Ultimately it will be up to the driver in the car if they want to keep the same tires for their second stint, but plan on tire changes for every driver change (tires & driver swap can happen same time I believe, just not fuel).

Hmmm, I suppose I've never taken the iRacing tires to their limits enough to know what the dropoff is like.

I bet all it would take would be 1 major off track or a spin and any advantage gained by not taking tires would be negated. But I haven't run the Mclaren...so who knows, it could be better on tires.

A reminder to drivers and crew chiefs: Check the fuel and tires are still selected after crossing the pit-entry limiter line. I've had them turn off a few times (probably due to my default settings)... I think it happens if I turn the limiter on/off/on but I'm not sure.
