We should be ok Dale. I'm going to get into the car for a second time after Bozas first run. Then Sheldon will relieve & Boza will bring it home.

That was a great experience! Great job by everyone!
It was a great pleasure for me to race with the GBR Team for the first time. I have fond memories of racing with you all in the 2old4forza days but none of those events compares to this. The teamwork and required is what made it special for me. Thanks to Sheldon and Dave for keeping me calm when I had the two incidents. That red haze came over me both times. I guess I can get a little hot headed. LOL
This brought back great memories and I'm also excited to team race with you guys in the future. My RL schedule be damned!
I am also going to work on the team paint some more. I may also do some alternative versions for when the possibility of running two cars comes up (ahem, 6 hours of the Glen).
Thanks again guys.

That was great. Thanks guys! Here's a first...I had the fewest incident points! Ha, I was the worst. The mysteries of the SR system got me a -0.93 SR for that. Ouch. Looking at the average lap times, I was pushing a little harder than I thought. It was the damn bus stop... I picked up a lot of 1x there trying to find a faster line. Overall, a great race. The team worked perfectly and we mostly kept out of trouble. Memorable incidents from my runs: That insane #1 TCR Japan car doing all sorts of weird things. It ended up in the pits for a few hours then came back into my second session where many of the other drivers were yelling at him at which point I think the guy parked it for good. There was also the guy that came to a near stop in the kink forcing me to scrape his side and drive through the grass. My own mistake was missing my brake point for T1 and lightly kissing the wall with the side of the car.

I was taking it really easy because the last thing I want to to ruin the race for the team. I had a couple of pucker up moments. The worst was went I got loose heading into the bus stop and had to take to the grass to avoid spinning it. I also dropped a wheel before the kink that scared me too.

She's dirty. She's a little dinged. But here is the GBR McLaren at the end of 24 hours around Daytona Road. GBR 2016 24HRS of Daytona P2 P2. Great job again everyone. And a big thanks to Dave and others that helped update the pit departures for me. It ended up being the main contributor to making a crucial call around the 12 hour mark and re-organizing the stints.

Good to see that skin worked despite being uploaded during the race.

Congrats guys! Do you have any official info for us non iracing members, like what class you were driving eg. Pro, pro-am..., and how big the field was for the race?

Congrats guys! Do you have any official info for us non iracing members, like what class you were driving eg. Pro, pro-am..., and how big the field was for the race? Here are the official results (probably only iR members car view that) members.iracing.com/membersite/member/EventResult.do?&subsessionid=15834636There were about 550 teams across 13 session splits (well... and maybe a bunch of teams in two more splits that were added 90 min late because of server problems). We were in the 10th of 13 splits but we made no attempt to qualify high (which would've been to start with Boza and Snappy) and instead targeted a start representative of the average of our driver ratings. Qualification is largely based on the internal iRacing system which calculates a driver ranking based on how we finish against other drivers in non-team races. It was a 42 car field with 23 cars in our GT3 class. Of interest to you JImmy, I think, we finished 2nd behind Team Reddit Mclaren who won the split's GT3 class.

Congrats to Troy and Craig who also raced and came home in 10th with different team in a different split. Hopefully we hear a race report from them. We had 5 guys on our team. Overall, I enjoyed the race, but unfortunately our race was marred by mistakes from the get go. Early in the race, our first driver spun the car going into Turn 1 and slammed into the wall. That required 28 minutes of repairs and so we were down from the start. We battled back and got close to the top 10. My first stint was late morning and I had a slow, but steady run, with no major incidents, just a few 1x off tracks. A few guys subsequently spun the car but did not hit anything and so we only lost a few seconds. My second stint on Saturday night was a disaster. Soon after I started, I spun the car into 1 and hit the wall, costing us 18 minutes of repairs. I finished out the fuel run and then Troy benched me in favor of our fastest driver. Unfortunately, disaster struck again. He did not have a button mapped for the pit limiter and so he had to take a complete lap at 55 mph. He then had to exit the car, map a pit limiter button and then get back on track. At that point it was just about salvaging what we could and we were lucky enough to capture a top 10 in class. I rarely spin a car in any race in iRacing, whether road or oval. I wonder whether this is part of the reason the Ford GT is being retired, I had no indication that I was about to spin, it just snapped. Its not an excuse, I am ultimately responsible for the screw up, but I was not overdriving the car. Anyway, it was a good experience, but I think I am going to skip future road endurance races. My heart is just not in it, I much prefer iRacing ovals and the Caddy.
