Ya, I've got a test server on free trial on the East Coast just sitting mostly idle for the next month or so. Though you'd be restricted to the mods I have installed.

Smok3y, another option if you're looking for chat for just the 2 of you is Skype. Best of all it's free. I don't know how many you can get on a channel, or if it is just 1 to 1. Something to look into too.

thanks F1 ill give the host sessions a go first thanks for offer though . the main thing we will be running is V8s (99%) of time so pretty basic lol also ya helios i didnt even think of skype or similar just so used to using TS now $7 bucks aint gonna kill me for a month

The place where most guys get hung up on hosting is to make sure the correct ports are open.
Also, you can host a session in game just as easy as running the dedicated server. I always prefer the dedicated server interface though.

What router are you using? You will need to get into your router settings (typically you type your local IP and it will pop up asking for a login and password). You then look for the port forwarding section. You open the ports from there.
