I recommend to all that they get rid of the grinding transmission plugin. It is crap and adds nothing to the mod. efnet ditched it almost immediately. I don't use it.
Blown engines are rare but remember... there is no rev limiter. It takes a bit of thought to shift and launch off the line. I've blown engines before without even reaching the start line because I wasn't paying attention. Unlike other mods we run, you have to respect the redline and carefully pick the times you go over that line. Treat it like a book of matches. Light 'em when you choose but realize that there is a fixed number available.
TC and ABS on a 60's/70's car? These cars are meant to be driven as they were built. No electronic aids. If we used TC/ABS what's the point then in picking one of the most accurate simuations of historic cars?
The Ferrari 275GTB I drive in the efnet series requires a lot of finesss with the rear tires. That's the challenge of this mod. Some cars have crap brakes, some have crap traction, some have crap cornering characteristics, some are powerful but handle bad, some are low powered but handle awesome.
For me, it's about finding a car that works with my style then tuning out the nasties.

Its not my fault I blew the trannies on these cars. It was the long straight at the end of Bathurst.

@ F1, Point taken. For those that can "tune out" the nasty's. But for those that can't, driving aids are the only choice for making an uncontrollable car halfway drivable.
If you don't need them, good for you. But not everyone here has your skill in driving and tuning.

I think we've all got the skill for these. Also, Zed picked one of the lower classes so these cars don't have insane power. Everything happens in slow-motion compared to the V8s.
I can provide base tunes for some of the cars upon request if that helps people.

I'm actually having more trouble driving the 911 ST with out low TC then driving the Cuda with out. Go figure.

What we need is driving advice from the TUM guys. I'm at the back of the field at efnet and mid-pack on very rare occasions... those dudes get so much more speed out of this mod.

Are you having issue with it coming around at turn in or track out?

I don't remember what TC settings I had. I guess I'll need to practice. Before I took out the grinding tranny plugin I couldn't get out of the pit stall. Promptly removed it. It was utter frustration. I don't know if it was all that realistic. Also, I found that my Club Sport V1s had a very small sweet spot where the clutch was actually "engaged". That made it impossible to shift correctly. Couldn't get through a lap with it on.

Okay, to my surprise, I actually went faster with everything off. 1:43.9xx but I was nervous the whole time. Spun it once going over "madness" but I guess that's why it's called that. I think F1 was right. With a little tuning (which I wouldn't dare to try just yet) the cars could be very manageable. I just had to be sure to avoid 2nd gear as much as possible. Tried that 911 and the Dino as well. The Porsche was cool. It sounds great. I wrecked the Ferrari. LOL

I did some laps last night and also got into the 1:43's a couple of times. I really need to practice my heel-toe with the H-shifter. That is what is messing me up most. Not sure if it is the quality of my Fanatec shifter but going between 2+3 and 4+5 makes me mis-shift often. I have it mounted a little too far to the right so I may need to modify that.
The 911 definitely likes to swap ends on throttle lift-off. Can't change the engine braking setting so if anyone has any tips on how to help that I am all ears. I obviously need to keep some throttle on like in the iRacing SRF.

I just remoted into my server to see if anyone was able to get in and it looks like it did an automatic update and restarted. I have turned off auto updates so this shouldn't happen again. If you couldn't find the server after late last night, please try now. Thanks for your patience while I learn this hosting business.
