I’ve been wanting to get a HistorX series going so I am trying this out as an exhibition to gauge interest. So grab your favorite 8-track tape and non-filtered Camels and head on down to the track! I hope you all come out!

When:
March 28 - 7:15 PM Pacific - Please try to join the server ahead of time to test and be on by 7:15 PT. This is the first time I am hosting and hope I do not have issues.

What:
70’s GTTC B1 on HistorX 1.95
1.9 and the 1.95 patch can be downloaded HERE.

I am using a format similar to the DRM series running multiple short races since these cars are easy to kill an engine or drivetrain.

10 minute qualifying will start at 7:30, barring any issues.
Race 1 - 15 minutes - Grid per qualifying positions
Race 2 - 15 minutes - Reverse grid of Race 1 finish
Race 3 - 15 minutes - Grid per Race 2 results

Tire Wear - X2
Fuel Usage - X2
Damage - 50%
Mechanical Failures - Normal
Flag Rules - Black Only
Driver Aids - Auto Clutch Only (and only because some guys do not have a clutch :b) I hope some of you try to force yourselves to use your H shifter and clutch pedal!

Who:
The following cars are open to use and tune as you see fit. Please post your choice so we can spread it out. I don’t mind if we duplicate but it would be nice not to have to. I found this mix of cars from another league so I am hoping it provides even racing. The notes are also taken from that series.

‘70 Alfa Romeo GTAm - infinite grip, great turn-in, great center, great exit, very tossable and nimble, lowest top speed of the group - 14 cars available
‘72 BMW 2002tii - very loose, very drifty, decent braking, violent turn-in, reasonably good top speed - 7 cars available
‘70 BMW 2800CS - highest top speed of the group, fantastic grip, most "modern handling" of the cars, gentle understeer, but quite heavy and loses on mid-corner speed and braking - 3 cars available
‘72 Ferrari Dino LM - second-highest top speed, great turn-in, great brakes, sometimes snap-oversteers, a bit of understeer on corner exit - Only one available and I would prefer if only 2 are used
‘71 Porsche 911 ST 2.4 - best "all-around" car, much more predictable than most Porsches, braking on par with the Alfa, violent turn-in, great grip on corner exit, good top speed - 6 cars available

How:
Have fun but keep in mind the GBR rules are always in effect.

I think I covered everything. I will try to get the server up tomorrow night before my west coast trip but will get it up by the weekend for sure.

Snappy, Just let me know which number you'll be using. There are more Alfas than any other car so we can definitely avoid duplicate skins.

#41 Alfa GT Am. 1:46.6 after a total of 4 laps. Had to head out so I couldn't put any more laps in. The track is very cool and very nice looking. This should be fun. I hope there will be some folks with similar lap times.

#015 911 ST for me please.

I have a feeling you may not get much support with this because of your driving aids restrictions. A lot of people here seem to use TC at low for most series. Not sure about anti locks. But you may want to offer the choice of either at low. It's your show, I'm just giving an opinion.

I myself find the cars you have chosen to be a handful w/out TC, But I don't tune worth a shit. Hopefully Chris will run a Porsche and I can get a tune from him

If not, I'll still run, you just wont see me till you lap me

I understand...I was just trying to keep with the vintage of the cars. If the lack of TC keeps anyone away I'll change it to allow it on low...just post up or PM me.

FWIW, I use low TC sometimes in the V8s on and always in GT cars but I didn't feel the need for it in these. I was getting some of them to swap ends but it was more with lift-off oversteer, not power-on wheel spin.

I am trying to go bareback with this series, no aids whatsoever. Driving these cars with an H shifter and clutch is a hoot!!!!

Although I could not do one lap with any of these cars at Bathurst last week without blowing the tranny! Hmm....

This is one of the reasons I like these cars. They are not so fast that you have a little more time to do your shifts and if you try to shift too fast you get penalized. I do suggest that everyone select the less severe setting for the transmission grinding. I forget what it is called but will post it up tonight. It is done in the upgrades I believe. I want authenticity but within reason. I've blown a few engines downshifting too aggressively as well.
