Marvin gets the Iron Butt award for this round. 404 laps of practice recorded on the server. Damn! I'm going to try and be there for the race tonight. I said I would participate and still plan on it. I want to make sure I am doing what is necessary though. So I just show up on time and be ready to go right? I haven't changed my paint or anything but I think it's still in the group of paints everyone has. If not, let me know. Just confirm you're in the the right car, have switched your profile to a real name and you're good to go. You're my teammate in the FFF Ford. I'll chat with you prior to the race about pit strategy so we don't come in on the same lap. |

Servers: the practice server will remain active tonight in case we need to switch to it. New guys: you should be joining the Race server.
We've never really stressed Hawk's server with so many cars as we could potentially get tonight. If it gags then we'll jump over to the practice server which should handle the load easily however it's also never been stress tested but it's a moderatly powerful dedicated machine at a major datacentre so I think it's fine.
Pitting: With large fields there is a chance that you'll come into your pit and see another car there. You have two choices... stack and wait for the pit to clear OR nudge your car in. The procedure is to **lightly** push the other car forward until your front bumper is in the box at which point your service will start. Do not do this too hard or you risk front aero damage (which may trigger a longer stop and if it doesn't you're re-entering the track with a buggered nose). You may also damage the other car's rear bumper.

The new skins are in this thread. Only reason why I'd say make sure to get the new paints is if you're like me and during the race you call out a car by it's livery. I might yell out "Hey YooHoo car I'm coming on the left" but if the paints don't match you might be in the "KoolAid" car by default and not know I'm talking to you. For instance, if you yell out "Hey red and black Mother car" I won't know you're talking to me because I changed the livery to black and blue but the default will probably show red and black if you don't have the latest skin pack loaded. |

Especially if it's a quick reaction type of thing. |

My goal for this season is to not run Helios, or anyone else, off the track. Anything above and beyond that is a plus.  |

Right on Dale. Maybe something similar to this. Either way, might be kinda neat to have and easy to recognize everyone's new liveries. Could be a lot of work, but we have some Photoshop masters out there.  Attachments:

80/20 chance I'm not gonna make it tonight. Today and Saturday are the last 2 days my wife and I have off together before here lasik surgery at end of month. Shes naturally nervous and wants to go driving around a scenic area we have near here(just incase she says  )..but that is too far away to make it back in time I think. We have lots of overly fast aliens in this group and so I am glad that I will have someone to race with in the bottom half of the pack, as the aliens are lapping me multiple times. |

Even if you don't sort out the paint you should figure out which car so you don't inadvertently block a pit stall for a two-car team. I can lend a hand with the car graphic, I just can't take on the whole thing. Dale, PM me if you want help. I can do the layout or help capture the cars. |
