I'm on 3 x 22" because I got them a few years ago for a good price. 24" would be better but the 22s are fine for me right now.

I have the Gtx 660 and I'm running 3 22inch monitors with it. You should be alright running a dual set up.

I run mine off the GTX 460 2 Gig and it runs fine. Of course I have 4 of them. But I was running my 27" trips off one for about 6 months with no problems.

Thanks for all the info. I have 2 dvi , 1hdmi and 1 something port. If I go triple, my monitors must have the same refresh rate? Do I need a special program or I can use the nvidia surround? All monitors must be the same "p" like 1080 or 720 ?
Thanks a lot.

You would use Nvidia Surround, the thing to be aware of is Polarity...F1 is the man to explain, but using the same monitors renders that a non issue. The surround system takes care of everything including custom resolutions to deal with the bevels and as it treats all three monitors as one will set them all to the same refresh rate. I can't wait to see your first vid of you using triples, the immersion level goes up by a factor of ten and as you are already so obviously in the moment on one, you'd better have a good strong heart LOL

Sorry if this is discussed earlier in the thread, but what is the most common size (among GBR'ers) of monitors? I am long ways from triples but it is in my overall sim-racing plan. I run three 24 inch monitors, Dell Ultrasharp 2408 WFP, but each one has a resolution of 1920 X 1200, and they come with a shitload of connections, including one HDMI, three DVI, one DisplayPort, one Component, one S video, one Composite and a jack to hook up an external speaker. These monitors were sold in 2008 and 2009, but IMO, they are the best monitors out there for what I wanted. The first one I bought in 2008 was expensive, at least $600, but it was worth every penny. The other two were bought in the last year and cost less than $300 each. My first monitor has worked perfectly since 2008, even though I have used it almost every day over the last four years plus. I not only get the extra resolution that comes with 1920 X 1200, but I can connect my Xbox and PS3 triples as well, without using splitters.

Thanks a lot. Yes. All your monitors need to support at least one common refresh/resolution/colour depth with matching sync polarity. Nvidia Surround will find that and prompt you to use it. You still need to double-check that there is a match at (ideally the native resolution) when you buy additional monitors. Like I said though, save yourself some trouble and but matching monitors if you can. Software? Nvidia Surrround is all you need. Sorry if this is discussed earlier in the thread, but what is the most common size (among GBR'ers) of monitors? I am long ways from triples but it is in my overall sim-racing plan. I run three 24 inch monitors, Dell Ultrasharp 2408 WFP, I used to have two of these at work. Awesome monitors. IMO, the current replacement is Ultrasharp U2412M. It's even better because it uses LED backlighting (the 2408s were a little bright on one side because of the CFL backlighting). Dell puts them on sale for $70-$100 off all the time. I have two at home and will grab a 3rd on sale later. As an added benefit, LED backlit monitors don't get as warm... something to think about in the summer when you have 3 of these in front of your face I only buy monitors with IPS panels... there are lots of cheaper 24" monitors out there.

I am currently putting away some money each paycheque so I can make the move to triples. I agree with F1 on the IPS panels. The current monitor on my radar is the Asus PA248Q 24" Panel. The sync polarity issue catches quite a few people when going triples which is why buying all the same model is always the best. Cheers!

The trick is to manipulate and create a custom resolution with the matching sync polarity. If possible, you want to get a triple screen resolution of 5760 X 1080, or in my case, 5760 X 1200. That is the gold standard. If you use a 720p display, then you cannot get there. All displays must be capable of doing 1080p in order to get the 5760 X 1080 resolution you want to aim for. As others have noted, use three identical displays, if possible. But, if you cannot do that, then you can use different displays but you might need to tinker with them to get 5760 X 1080 or 5760 X 1200.

Does a single 660 support triple screens? I know the 660ti does, but what about the 660?
