Ran a trace and here is the type of error I'm getting, which may explain why I'm getting the horrible frame rates during a race. Seems to be an issue with the texture of the dds of the cars. Anyone come across this issue for this mod or any other mod in the past? I posted this over at the F1 Classic forum as well since the developer of the mod is over there.

Very strange, never seen that. Do you get more errors than that or is it just that one car causing problems?

I get the errors for all the vehicles it appears. If I am using the track side cameras, the fps is between 25-35 as the cars go by, then it shoots back up to 150+ once they are off screen. In car is the same thing - going into T1 at Zandvoort, it drops to 25 or so. As the cars spread out a bit, it might go up to 40-45, but still somewhat choppy. I just ran it again and have attached the trace file. I've googled this, but haven't found any helpful info at this point. Attachments:trace.txt (57.77 KB)

Just tried the same test on the Enduracers mod, same track and approx same number of cars. Frames never got below 70 at the very start. At once point dropped to about 55 fps on a trackside camera, but overall was very smooth. Did the trace for this as well and seems to be getting the same "Unable to adjust texture for material" Guess that throws another curve ball at my theory. So nobody else is getting this when you run the trace program. You can test it by going to the Target line of your shortcut and putting in trace=100 Example: "E:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor-Blancpain 1.2\rFactor.exe" trace=1000 Attachments:trace2.txt (93.86 KB)

Jason Whited, Did you do a new install with the Sp1.2 version? Or did you just remove the sound files and install over the older one? I did the overwrite the first time and had similar errors. So I did a fresh install and no issues.

I have done multiple fresh installs. Tried the full version and lite versions of rF. Tried installing on different hard drive. Tried a couple different nvidia drivers. Did the 4gb and Nvidia patches (the nvidia got rid of stuttering but not the poor fps).
Starting to just think this mod doesn't like my machine. If I didn't like it so much I wouldn't give a rats.
I've read a few other folks having similar problems, but nobody seems to have any remedies. This kind of stuff drives me nuts!

I won't have a chance to look at this until tonight at the earliest. Hopefully you find the issue before then!

Heading out soon but I will say that those trace messages may be normal. I've seen some pretty weird things show in the traces for other mods that look bad but don't effect the game.
