Ran a few more laps with that basic setup listed on that thread you posted Craig. Car feels much better on corner entry than the stock setup. I also made a couple tweaks to my CSW settings and that helps a little as well. Still feels a bit dull in terms of FFB. For example, when you come down the dipper in rF1 and especially rF2, you can feel the right front come off the ground then hit again through the wheel. There is none of this in Iracing. Maybe the dipper isn't as dramatic in real life as the ORSM version. I will definitely enjoy running this track. Bathurst has to be one of my favorite tracks of all time, so no matter what car I'm driving it's always going to be fun.

I drove a few laps in the V8SC then parked that piece of crap and ran with the CTS which feels much more tossable here.
Like Jason, I noticed the lack of lack of feeling when the tire leaves the ground but I didn't check the replay to see if that happened.

Maybe the dipper isn't as dramatic in real life as the ORSM version. The Dipper is a big drop in real life. Cars frequently have 1 or 2 wheels in the air as the car "falls" down the track. You can see that in any replay of the Bathurst races. It's probably just the difference in programming from iR, rF1 & rF2. Is it better? Worse? Neither really, it just comes down to personal opinion on the feel. I'm getting a little itch to drive the HPD P1 prototype.....maybe someday soon.

Tried the V8 last night at Bathurst. Very hard car and track combo. I hit many of the walls along the track. Rear comes around too easily, without warning, particularly when in second. Track is gorgeous.

Darrin at insidesimracing took a drive in a V8SC at bathurst. Can somebody explain to me why all the cars in iRacing sound like vacuum cleaners? The sound of the V8SC in this video is horrible.

I have found the sounds to be pretty good with a couple of exceptions (Mustang, Ford GT)

A lot of what you're hearing there is the transmission whine and this car also sounds better on yoru own PC if you have a subwoofer. There's a low growl in there that's nice.
This V8 sound is much better than the original one that was in use until about a year ago.

Love the sounds of the Caddy, Gen6, trucks, V8 and Kia, do not love the sounds of the Jetta, Mustang and Ford GT.

Of course, but it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I got a set up off the forums that was labeled "basic" which is code for "dummies like Craig can drive it." I did spin out early on but I learned from it and was able to avoid trouble the rest of the way. The car is twitchy, but that is what you get with so much power. I am thinking about running this car this coming season rather than the Star Mazda. I will get plenty of more work in this weekend. Mrs. Lawyer is going to her mother's house and so I will have plenty of time for football and racing.

I ripped the Star Mazda around for a few laps as well as the Mazda Cup car, all were fun.
