It was a great race last night, I enjoyed it. These cars seem a lot more competitive, I still got lapped but not by as much!! Us little dogs with the yellow strip will have to used to not pulling over when we see the big dogs on our ass!! Game on*** Unless you're being lapped, right?

So I'm curious, sportsman and "pro" competing against each other or is it a seperate results kind of thing? I thought it was a separate class result thing. They're competing against each other but scored separately. The first part is important... no Sportsman needs to pull over for a Pro (we're all fighting for position) unless of course, you're getting lapped then the usual blue flag gentlemanly procedures apply. If we've done this right the two driver classes shouldn't mix too much but it will happen as we saw last night in race two, Dan was ticking off steady laps without issues and he got past Chris and I who each had spins and pit issues (Chris double-stacked and I overshot the box). Ahh ok just wondering how it all goes down so I can know who does what and when. It was great getting back on the track again. I had some severe rust going on but managed to shake at least the hardest crusty parts off. I had an issue pop up a few times where downshifting went a gear to low, particular from 3rd to 2nd would sometimes go to first and that was an automatic spin. I had some great battling out there when I didn't spin and that made it fun.

I think things went pretty smooth overall for our first rF2 event of the season. No major technical issues aside from a couple restarts. I know Ced mentioned he had an issue in race 1, but I couldn't quite hear what the problem was. Sounds like most guys had a good time and that is the most important part.
Had a couple great races with Smokey. Race 1 I got a very good jump off the line and spent the entire race with Smokey close behind. Unfortunately he ran out of fuel on the final lap.
Race 2 he got the good jump and seemed to kick it into another gear. I was pushing hard to try to keep within striking distance. This race was won in the pits. Smokey entered pit road very slow and I actually went around him and got into my stall first. He had some type of issue (not sure if he missed his stall or had damage) and when I came out I had about a 15 second lead. Too bad as I think it was going to be an epic finish.
Everyone I passed did a great job of maintaining their line and if I was lapping them, allowed me to get by at a safe spot. Pro drivers need to be aware that if Sportsman are battling for position, it may require a bit more patience. It definitely makes for an interesting dynamic that we haven't had in the past, which is pretty damn cool.
Congrats to the Sportsman winners last night (Craig in Race 1 and Dan in Race 2). We face off at Mid Ohio next round and this time it's for points. Looking forward to it and hope everyone is able to make it!

That first corner was really strange. It was like driving on the inside of a fish bowl the way the car seemed to just want to keep turning like trying to drive against the slopes inside a crater or something.

As I rolled past you it clicked..."Wait, I'm running Smokey's tune. If I'm out of gas....." Shit luck mate. And props to Dave for not running over me when I hit the gas to go...and it didn't.

If I understand all of this correctly, it's the same as multi-class racing, each class has it's own championship going, and then there is the overall race winner/championship. So we should have three points battles going. 1. Over all 2. Pro 3. Sportsman So it's conceivable that we could have three champs at the end of this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is how I understand it.

I would think that if a Sportsman even had a shot of the overall championship he was in the wrong class!

As for my race night, I had a blast. Sorry again to Marvin for taking him out in R1. I was a passenger at that point. I think I checked up to avoid hitting Dale and lost control.
In R2 I was having a hell of a time getting a passing opportunity on Dale so I really over-drove the tires. I then let up a little at one point because I felt I gained an unfair advantage riding the curb and let Chris and someone else by...DOH! Jeff then tapped me (no worries, Jeff) in the last right-hander and I dropped back to 11th. I had fun fighting back up to 7 and the last few laps with Dan leading a pack of four cars.
I did notice one thing. I went to push Smokey over the finish line and each time I bumped him it sent his car up in the back. I wasn't hitting him hard and I found it odd that it so easily lifted him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is how I understand it. I suppose in a way you're right on how the scoring works but the intent is that there are two champions. 1. Pro 2. Sportsman We're stealing this concept from efnet so I'm used to it in my head. I need to confer with the stewards on a few things related to standings because there's two obvious ways I can calculate this. It'll all make sense once I generate the points tables so lets not overanalyze it right now.

A very light tap to his side as he spun beside me, not in front of me.

Maybe an issue with the collision box. Any ideas Oz?
