First impressions of the Holden: it's not radically different than the FG01 but in the base setup it feels slightly more controllable. I ran it at Oran Park and the base tune feels about the same as my tuned Ford so maybe with tuning, the car will get even better.
Sounds are a direct copy from the old Ford as near as my ears can tell.

I'll probably grab it here in the next day or 2. Waiting to find out if we're going to be running Long Beach during the Americas time slot this Thurs/Fri, as I'll need to snag the track as well.

Is Long Beach complete? No. They released it a while ago as "tech track". The track itself is complete, but the surrounding buildings, trees, etc. are not. I wish they would complete this track, it looks amazing in Forza 5 and is good fun to drive.

No. Still a "Tech Track". And I don't think they have any intentions of "finishing" it.

Ok dang. I did buy it awhile back and keep hoping they will finish it up.
I'll be buying the Holden as well as I have some Iracing credits. Hoping I like it as Iracing has been collecting dust for quite awhile

Ran a few laps around Bathurst with the base setup. Still very challenging to drive, but definitely notice an improvement in steering. Iracing still lacks a bit of the tire to tarmac feel that rF2 has, but definitely seems improved. Would be interested to try some different setups. I am no good at tuning in Iracing as I just haven't spent enough time with it. From what I remember, everything seemed to effect the car opposite of what I'm used to in rFactor.
Sounds are still too tame, but as Craig suggested I cranked up the volume and that definitely helped.

I tried the Holden at Bathurst last night and it felt no better than the Ford. The car is too quick to snap loose and spin, with little or no warning. One would think I am used to that, since I spend so much time driving the Gen6, but that car races primarily on ovals and even on road courses, it is more manageable than the V8 Supercar.

There shouldn't be huge differences between the old car & the CotF. The big thing is it still uses a spool type differential, so it's tough to turn in, and still requires a lot of throttle modulation to get out.
The fact that everything I've been reading from the guys that have been running the V8s a lot, is that the changes are subtle...and that is encouraging. I laugh at the people that were thinking the new car was going to drive like a GT3 car. It's still heavy, it still have relatively narrow tires, it still has a spool diff, it still has low downforce (compared to a GT3) and it still has a shitload of HP.

I picked up the Holden and I can't drive it for shit with the stock set-up. I am going to keep trying it though because I hope to join in a GBR V8 series. I have so much trouble with rFactor and setting up mods, etc. I should just suck it up and join you guys in that series. Let me go check out the thread for it...

What we should do is be representin' GBR at the V8SC Americas official races on Thu and Fri nights (7:15 Pacific). I plan to be a regular there for the winter and Chris seems to be at most events too if he has the track.

Hey Snappy, I would be happy to help you set things up if you decide to join. rF2 is much more user friendly than rF1, but still requires a bit of tweaking. I could jump on TS at some point and help you if you are serious about it. Let me know bud.

What's really bugging me is the 360 degree steering lock. That's way too fast for me. Think I'll try to override that in my wheel settings.
