iRacing just made the announcement that season 4 is shortened to 6 weeks this year only. They said they want to get the seasons more in line with the calendar. 1 bonus is that you will only need to race 5 weeks to get the participation credits. Now the speculation begins about what's in that build! COTF Holden?

And it looks like I'm sitting out the V8s for S4. Frustrating..... members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/3275142.pageConveniently the Ford CotF won't be ready (even though the body doesn't change), but the Holden will be. So if you want to run, you have to buy the new car.....Marketing dept milking more money out of it's members...pretty sure. Hopefully the car will be updated for January.

I think they are rebuilding the car from the ground up. Otherwise, if they were just slapping the Holden brand on the existing V8 Supercar, it would have been out a long time ago and the existing Ford would remain in Season 4. We have a similar situation in the Nationwide official series, where they built the Mustang and then the Camaro from the ground up. They now run with those and the Impala has been sidelined. I know that means guys have to drop more dough, but at least now we have an official series that mirrors the real life Nationwide series more than before.

I know the Holden is ground up. But the existing Falcon body is the same, aside from the Larry Bar across the windscreen. Wouldn't think it would take much for updating physics calcs used on the Holden to the Falcon. If it were a whole new body I would agree.

The season 4 schedule is posted. Link here: members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/3278485.pageHighlights 1. Advanced Mazda MX-5 Cup Series Now standing starts Tracks: all races 25 minutes Week 1 Mosport Week 2 Montreal Week 3 Bathurst Week 4 Interlagos Week 5 Watkins Glen Classic (no bus stop, no boot) Week 6 Daytona Road (night race) 2. The V8 Supercar series lists the Holden Commodore VF V8 as it's car. Tracks: Week 1 Okayama Full 25 laps Week 2 Road Atlanta Full 28 laps Week 3 Watkins Glen Classic 30 laps Week 4 Road America 21 laps Week 5 Phillip Island 30 laps Week 6 Bathurst 33 laps 3. The Ford GT GT3 car will be added to the GT3 series. Tracks: Week 1 Silverstone Circuit International 30 mins Week 2 Twin Ring Motegi East 30 mins Week 3 Road Atlanta Full 75 mins Week 4 Sebring Full 30 mins Week 5 Suzuka Grand Prix 30 mins Week 6 Sonoma Raceway Long 30 mins 4. The IndyCar road series is going to Bathurst in week 3. That is going to be interesting. I have actually raced very few IndyCar oval races in Season 3, but ran most weeks on the road side. It is definitely a challenge, but the racing is much better. The oval series is such a wreck fest, the pace car leads the most laps in many of the races.

Good to see the FGT updated to GT3 specs. I prefer the FGT over the Mclaren, which is the only other GT3 car I have at the moment. Should give old dog a boost in life.

Found out some new information about the Ford GT GT3. If you already have the Ford GT, the GT3 version is free. If you don't have the Ford GT yet, you will get both versions when you buy it similar to how they released multiple versions of the RUF.

I hope this is how they do the Falcon CotF. I'll be a bit miffed if I end up having to repurchase it again when I've already got it (and will probably have the Holden ONLY because the Falcon CotF "isn't ready").

When does the season start? I am getting the itch to get back into iRacing but want to wait for a discount.

I think the new season 4 content is out next week, w/ season 4 actually starting the week after.

Did you guys see the release notes on the Ford Falcon? It says: "- Updated the car with physics improvements and refinements from the new Holden. " This is good, right?

I'm not sure. It's the same car with the old tractor suspension and just some physics tweaks.
Hard to imagine anyone will run a tweaked Falcon when the majority of the small number of V8SC drivers will be in the Holden or sitting out the 1/2 season waiting for COTF Falcon.

Site has been down most of the day. It came up briefly after the new build was deployed, but is down again. I hope they have it up by tonight, I want to try out the new V8 Supercar and the new oval track.
