I realize this thread hasn't been updated in awhile and most of you are not using the T500RS with GT6... However, if you have one and it's sitting in a closet (Craig) you should try it with the T500... It's an entirely different experience. In fact, it's an entirely different experience going from the T500 on GT5 to the T500 on GT6. It's really REALLY good. Something is not right with the FFB on the Fanatec wheels and this game. I don't know the cause, maybe they should just make their own damn driver for the game? sheesh. The graphics do not concern me in the least. I didn't expect much there, it's a PS3 for god sakes! What I did want was improved physics, more tracks and easier access to just driving stuff. I got all 3 of those. The more I drive in it, the more I like it. I can literally feel which front tire has locked up going into a turn. I haven't had that kind of FFB from any sim I've played yet.

Jon, awesome post, as usual. Since I got GT6, I have looked over at my T500 several times and have wondered how it would work with GT6. As you know, I have my Clubsport wheel bolted to my cockpit. My Clubsport pedals are also bolted to the cockpit pedal plate. Uninstalling both and re-installing the T500 and pedals would be a big hassle. What I likely will do next week while I am on vacation is mount the T500 and pedals to my Rennsport wheel stand and try it that way with GT6.
By the way, I have found the FFB and physics to be superb with my Clubsport wheel. I can feel what the car is doing much better than I ever could in GT5. I have in-game set to Simulation and 8 FFB. On wheel, I have the SENS set to OFF and the FFB set to 100. That being said, it would not surprise me if the T500 feels even better. It is the official Gran Turismo wheel after all!!!!

Well, I'm basing my comments mostly on what I've read on forums so they may need to be taken with a grain of salt. However, I've heard from some of the die hard Fanatec guys that it just doesn't quite feel "right." I'll be curious to find out what you think. I have a CSR Elite at home I should connect to see what it feels like... Even have new motors for it, special ones (ok, not THAT special)

I hooked up my GT2 and ran it a bit. Now I'm back to the controller. It just felt really bad, so bad that it's hard to explain.

What I find more odd is that people with the G25 and G27 don't have the same complaints, and they should given that the Fanatec wheels emulate the logitech wheels on PS3.

By the way guys, sorry I have not kept this thread more up to date. There is a whole sub-forum over at 2Old4Forza that is dedicated to Gran Turismo and many guys over there have moved to Gran Turismo 6 from Forza. Since most of us GT guys here are members over there as well, I figured that this thread would be redundant.

OH wow... I don't know when the last time I logged in over there was! sheesh You should check it out. There is a lot of good GT6 discussion and not so good Forza 5 discussion. My personal view is that GT6 and Forza 5 are both great games, the problem is that Forza 5 is a radical departure from prior Forza games and it has a huge cost of entry. Those two undisputed truths are likely driving a lot of the animosity over at 2Old4Forza towards Forza 5. That in turn has increased interest in GT6.

I have the gt3 rs v2 and I feel the same with every game I play I decided when the time comes ill pick up a ps4 after hearing the negatives of forza 5 the question I have is the ps4 backwards compatiable ? And if so could I play gt6 online?

There is some talk of PS3 game streaming coming in the future to the PS4, but I would not hold my breath on that. My plan at this point is to hold off on the PS4 purchase unless and until there is a compelling exclusive game, or until GT7 is released.

Since I am in the middle of a holiday long weekend, I mounted the T500 and pedals to my Rennsport wheel stand and gave them a whirl in GT6. Here are my thoughts. The first thing I would note is that even though I am short on space and have a cockpit, running with a wheel stand and wood chair is acceptable, although certainly not ideal, like a cockpit. The reason I mention this is that I have my eye on the Thrustmaster TX wheel for Forza 5 and so part of the benefit of this testing is to see whether I can run a separate wheel and pedal set using my wheel stand. The answer is "I can", which may mean another wheel is in my future. Don't tell my wife, it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Anyway, enough of that wheel talk. I forgot how much I missed running my T500. What a great wheel!!!! It really is optimized for the PS3 and GT6 runs awesome with it. The FFB and physics are simply sublime. I would not describe the FFB as stronger than the Clubsport wheel, but it is definitely on par and it communicates quite well what the car is doing. The curbs and off track FFB is excellent, the best example being the rally cars on dirt. The pedals similarly work great. This is the first opportunity I have had to test Jon's brake mod and it is awesome. The feel is closer to the Clubsport load call brake pedal than I would have expected. I personally like a little more pedal travel than the T500 pedals provide and thus that is the only downside of the T500 pedals compared to the Clubsports. But, that is not an issue with Jon's mod. I can definitely see why some folks, such as our very own Jeff Hooper, have successfully switched from the Clubsports to the T500 pedals with Jon's mod. Anyway, those are my thoughts. Yes, I still prefer the Clubsport wheel and pedals to the T500, even for GT6, but it is very close. The reality is that the T500 provides the better bang for the buck and it is indeed optimized for GT6. If you are debating between the two, and budget is an issue, then you will not go wrong with the T500.

I think it is more like ask permission or 'beg' forgiveness
