So, after all the problems I've been having lately my PC finally bit the dust. It's completely bricked now and won't even POST anymore. I think it was a problem on the MoBo somewhere. R.I.P. It goes without saying that I'm probably not going to be able to make it this week.
Anyhow, this means that in order to race again, I'd need to need to buy a new PC. As of this morning this is done. It's a beast of a machine, too, but won't be in until sometime between the 12th and 17th. If it does come by the 12th, there's a slight chance I might be able to rush home and get it setup before the start, but that'll be unlikely.

With the times posted currently I would expect the times to drop a bit more on race night around 1:31.  |

I love the build, but it took some second-guessing to finally pull the trigger on the buy. Intel i7 7700K CPU, 64GB PC4-19200 RAM, 1TB SSD + 4 TB HDD. I think the weak link is going to be the GTX 980ti GPU. It can't get here soon enough... |

Are y'all dropping it down into 1st gear on the two slow hairpin corners at Okayama? I've watched some videos of people driving this car and some people never drop it into 1st and some do.

2nd gear. You should be carrying enough momentum through the corners that you'll be at about 5K rpm in 2nd which is just about perfect for accelerating out of the corner. If in 1st you'll likely get tire spin and have to shift up almost immediately after corner exit. Additionally you risk locking the rears on the 2->1 shift.
On this track you'll use 1st gear only for the start and exiting pits.

Yes Cody. When you create your driver profile for the game, you can type the name you want. Would be nice see the full name, instead of just Cody, for instance. Like in real racing. Its not mandatory, but I prefer that way. You can see on the live timing that most of us do this. Armando used to do that aswell, but not anymore...  |

I'll go in and change it if I don't have it set up that way already. This way y'all can know the backmarker by name! Seeing as it seems I'm a few seconds off the pace. But that's ok. I would rather finish last, but finish and not ruin my or anyone else's race by pushing past what I'm comfortable with right now. And me being brand new to the V8 supercar I don't feel as if I'm doing awful....I hope. |
