2:41:780, unfortunately liveracers is down so I don't know where that is in the scheme of things, but as I started in the 50's ten seconds is a huge improvement. Okay it's a hot lap and average is in the 42 to 45's with full fuel load, I am fairly happy.

Hey Knight, 2:41 is in the hunt for sure. A few of us were lapping in the mid 38's last night but I think 39's and 40's will be more race pace.
Cheers!

Thanks Dark, that is what I was hoping, I will be happy if I am fighting it out in the low orders, A race is a race be it for first or last :-) Looking at last races results just a finish will be good enough first time out.

You are right about that. These endurance races can become a battle of attrition. I was definitely happy to just finish at the last one. It takes a lot of concentration to stay on the track lap after lap. Also don't forget to practice getting in and out of the pits as there should be at least 2 stops during the race. Luckily this mod has speed limiter for the pits, make sure you map a button on your wheel for it. You also need to request pit service so your pit crew will be ready for you when you come in so have a button mapped for that as well.

I am fairly confident as long as I stay out of trouble and drive within my limits, ie not trying to go for ever faster laps I should be quite happy, I do little else other than sit at my rig so an hour and a half is a walk in the park. My main concern is not to mess up anyone else's race, I'm an unknown quantity for many of you, as are many of you to me, I am looking forward to it but the nerves are also building

Don't worry about it. It's a big track, we'll all find room. But, I run the session so if you piss me off I'll ban you. Just kidding. It's a long race and stuff happens. Someone is going to hit someone at some point. People will give you a little space until they're used to running with you. The #1 thing is to use TeamSpeak to indicate your intentions and vice-versa. Things like if you're pit in or pit out and there are cars around you then just let us know. Also use your Tab key to get driver names on screen (so you know who you're talking to). Also, if you lay down a blistering practice lap and get gridded high (remember, there's no quali for this race) just let me know if you are more comfortable with being given a grid spot at the back.

A good steady comfortable pace @ 80% is better than looping it for an extra 10th on a lap. Greedy = Bad!
Cheers!

Cheers! ok I am my own worst enemy This is some good advice that I really have to work on remembering when I am actually in a race Likely why I have some of my best laps following someone, perhaps keeps me from pushing too hard

Love to come up behind someone who pushes to be faster than me on every corner rather than just driving defensively, 9 times out of ten they will just do your job for you and gift the position by running wide or off...Not totally immune myself, but I'm working on it.

Just a heads up guys, if LiveRacers doesn't get online soon we will need to run a qualifying session for Spa. I've been trying to find a tool to analyze the practice session logs on my server and between my searching and Kelly suggesting some good ideas, I'm stalled. The practice logs are a very different format than Quali and Race and I can't find any tool that will analyze them. Manually sorting through about 50 XML log files for lap times will take me a lot longer than a 15 minute qualifying session.

You may have given me a good lead though. That guy sells a plugin with his apps that exposes a ton of data.

I can't get the E30 M3 to a very good top end, So all I have is corner speed, and not really good at that here, Mid to High 40's. So I'll be counting on most of you to wreck or go out on Mechanical.
