my mates buying a 670 as the card he had was old (ATI) even in rConfig it only goes to 3xAA?? which is half what even a single gtx550ti lets you go

If he has triples, have him have a look at 7970 too...they are a lot less buggy and do triple natively out of the box. If he buys the right one, it will even have the cables

nah he wants same as what i got so i can tell how to setup. he just bought a 55" LED 3D samsung tv for his games room and i cant see him going triples at all

So, since the firmware update and staying at Level 4 AA I haven't had a crash in weeks. Fingers crossed but this problem seems to be history.

ya still running 6AA and everything maxed here on the triples no probs adelaide ran smooth as butter (well except for car crashes ) i actually tried to run with some effects turned down and had issues with framerate?

nearly bought another 670 today but i think ill wait another month or 2 as rF1 really dont need extra. ive had 2 races both at 'city' tracks and had no issues so im just keen to sli lol

Faster memory speeds will increase framerates to some degree. The card will be able to swap data in and out of the VRAM and in theory the GPU won't have to wait as much.

just ordered my second 670 $405 bucks. will it actually be any real benefit? as they are both only 2gb versions will pCars etc be able to use the extra ram for example?

I am fairly sure in sli mode only the memory of one of the cards is used and it is only the workload that gets shared, I'm sure F1 will drop by with a more detailed explanation (what would we do without him)

i remember when i was using my 550tis in sli the game would 'spread' the load in the ram say 500 in 1 & 500 in the other but this is my mind trying to remember lol. i have no doubt 2 cards will greatly benefit my system just dont want to still be stuck with 'only' 2gb of ram usable. im just hoping that ill only be limited by the 256 bus
