Things that seem to make 670s work better with rFactor 1. Your mileage may vary. Note that I have EVGA GTX 670 Superclocked 4 GB - disable "Automatically check for updates" and "Show update notifications" in the Nvidia systray icon. Hawks and I had an issue where this was hanging and causing stuttering at regular intervals - in rFConfig pick level 4 AA, DX9 (apparently the level refers to the order of AA options reported by the driver... so "Level 4"'s real meaning is unknown to me) - in rFactor don't select higher than 4x AA. - if you want a o/c + monitoring utility then MSI Afterburner seems to be best. EVGA Precision caused crashes. ------------------------- Things of interest.www.techpowerup.com/170032/GIGABYTE-Outs-Corrective-BIOS-Update-for-GeForce-GTX-670-WindForce-3X-OC.html"GIGABYTE's GeForce GTX 670 WindForce 3X OC graphics card (model: GV-N670OC-2GD) is riddled with stability issues that can only be corrected with a graphics card BIOS update. The stability issues apparently relate to the way the GPU is addressing overclocked Hynix GDDR5 memory chips. "

Firmware loaded, nothing blew up. pCARS framerates are about the same. I may do a high-AA race with R2P tomorrow AM and see if I get a crash.

i dont have 3d vision installed i opted not to as my monitors dont do 3d lol Unless you need it, you should uninstall that via the Control Panel and in future driver installs, deselect it during the Custom Install. It seems to cause trouble so why have it there? I also don't install the HD audio driver (which I think is just to enable HDMI 7.1 audio).

OK, this doesn't change anything in rFactor. I just ran Historix with Level 6 AA and it crashed after 10 laps or so.
So I still don't know if this is a driver issue or rFactor incompatibility.

So is this purely a Gigabyte issue, or a GTX 670/80 4gb issue?

ok so i dont know if this helps at all so ignore if it doesnt.
it must be a triple screen thing as ive been running 6AA on rFactor since ive had the game & thats everything maxed for rfactor 'in' rfactor & 'nVidia control panel' and in 6AA in rconfig. ive done this since i used sli'd 550tis & now with 670. so im guessing i will have this issue when i finally go triples lol

Well I'm running triple and 6AA...so that's why I ask, so far nothing but sexy three screen action here. I'm running a bog standard PNY GTX 670 no overclocking.

I don't know exactly what it's specific to at this point. Lawyer and I have EVGA 670 Superclocked 4GB. There's a guy on ISI forum with the same issue but 3 x 2GB cards (unknown make or model). All of us on triples. It would make sense that high AA and triple monitor resolution is pushing memory use into a zone that rF1 isn't happy with. It's likely not the card because I don't see this in other sims which use much more VRAM.
TBH I can't see any difference between Level 4 AA and higher levels so I think I'm done worrying about it. Other sims are fine and I know what to do to avoid the problem in rF1.

Hmm...I'll run a good amount of laps before next weeks Endurance and make sure all is fine with mine, I'd hate to have the program crash mid race...
