As most of you already know Nic Hamilton and Ben Collins were hired back at the starting of the project to be the physics consultants for SMS tire model they are developing for Pcars, alot of people said every arcade racer has an endorser to help sales out.....fair enough, what many didnt know was how much feedback and detail they gave SMS over the years to help create this model, not everything was positive lol so SMS has decided to release a document showing and explaing what went into the model aswell as every conversation with BEN and Nic. Its a pretty long read, but informative and gives an inside perspective of what a pro driver experiences while driving. www.wmdportal.com/projectnews/project-cars-driver-feedback-compilation-available/#more-6777

Interesting stuff but I think they have had our money for long enough. Its time for them to release a playable, final version of the game. I am done playing builds that crash my computer. Almost 3 years of that is enough.

I mentioned awhile back that the physics have really improved. If you haven't tried it recently, I recommend you do so. Already head and shoulders above Assetto Corsa in my opinion.
Just wish there was a way to turn off the auto pit feature. It's very annoying, but other than that I'm impressed (and I was a big time doubter on this game previously).

Interesting stuff but I think they have had our money for long enough. Its time for them to release a playable, final version of the game. I am done playing builds that crash my computer. Almost 3 years of that is enough. I think for future releases you should save yourself the stress and avoid open betas Personally I want them to take there time and give us a near complete min. Bug free release that's where they will win there fans over, and the haters will have little to thrive off. what's causing the crashes? Game, cpu or gpu? Do you always delete your pcars folder in my documents after a new release? Have you posted any of the crashdump files on the form under todays build release to see what comes from it? I've only had a hand full of crashes asides from gpu issues (oc) which were all known issues and fixed by the next build. Also keep in mind sms gave us the opportunity to experience the daily build of a project from its absolute scratch, the good the bad and absolute ugly. Most open betas the devs only let you see content that's 90% finished and just needs the last few bugs sorted. When I first heard of this project I was a hard core forza fan and knew nothing of pc sims, only reason I bought a pc was to test this project.....once the legal aspects were finalized for the community funding I walked into the local tech shop told them to give me the best system they had (knew nothing about pc And signed up the next day. what drew me to it was there goal to bring a modern Race pro style game to next gen consoles which doesn't exsist, I was tired of factory cars that you could add ridiculous tunes and hp with no race rules official series etc. And they wanted to make it happen. I was a bit skeptican as shift 2 was there last release and an utter failure, but for some reason listened to there cries of claim saying ea forced them to rush and release an unfinished product and that the engine could have done much more if more time was given and support not dropped. that being said accompanied by the chance of being able to beta test 3 racing titles I feel they have accomplished what they set out to do and than some! But the beta tester in me see it needs more time to sort out bugs and finalize features.

First, as to the crashes of the game, they are not system related. Every other game I play on my PC runs fine, including iRacing, Assetto Corsa, GRID Autosport, Alien Isolation, F1 2013, rFactor 2, etc. all of which are out of beta and finalized. Yes, I understand games get updates.
Second, keep in mind I have been in Project CARS since January 2012. At that time, their goal was not to "bring a modern pro style game to next gen consoles." Rather, their original plan was to release the game on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. That necessarily required that the game release before the next gen consoles came out in November 2013. The game has been wildly delayed, to a new date of March 2015. Yes delays are routine in the gaming industry, but not when they charge for the game. That is why SMS was investigated by the British government and had to offer refunds to anyone that requested them. Yes, I paid for access to the builds, many of which I have enjoyed, but I also paid for a finalized game. If the game is still crashing in December 2014, that leads me to believe that they cannot deliver a final product in March. I hope I am wrong about that.
And yes, you are correct, I should and will avoid open alphas and betas in the future where they require me to pay to play. I had the same consternation with rFactor 2, but ISI eventually got their shit together and released a finalized product. Its time for SMS to do the same thing.

I am well aware of how long you ve been a member as all of us got in near the begining. I should have been more percise and said console's in general as that was there main focus while keeping the pc version more in depth but the games concept of delivering an indepth race experience doesnt change. In my defense the support for old console was dropped so long ago and frankly not sure why it was even considered considering next gen consoles are the next big thing for common gamers. RF2 and pcars are separate style betas. RF2 you paid for the game period. Pcars was not necessarily a pre buy at the time until a few months ago and was to be looked at as a "not investment " that allowed access to the builds, help contribute to the outcome of certain aspects of the game hence the title community assisted race simulation those that purchased team member above recieved a free game on the platform of there choice, the rest just got a discount on the game. Buying an upper tier gave "not investors" a few more perks ingame driver named after you, micro discounts, advertising boards on tracks and cars, track day invitation, board room access and potential profit sharing. In layman's term the reason the government got involved was there was no refund available at the time and basically could have been a ponzi scheme as sms could have stopped development the next day and walk away with everyone's money, so they allowed them to continue if they agreed to offer anyone a refund that no longer wanted to be part of the project or mis understood what they were getting into knowing the risk evolved for those that chose to stay. When they first started there pestimistic goal was to be ready for the launch of the next gens but no date was every mentioned other than those that did the math and assumed when the new consoles were to be launched it would be ready. As far as I am aware there was only one release planned in Nov. Which was pushed back 4 months to march and I wouldn't really consider that widely delayed. I would say AC coming spring 2012 and finally arriving in winter 2013 still in early beta would better suit that phrase. As for your game not working comparing it to other games that do work doesn't help me much in trying to help you sort the issue. Is it not launching at all or launching than crashing? There's many possibilities and providing a crash dump file that should be created when this issue happens is the first step to getting it sorted. I've gone through the forms looking for other users experiencing crashes and asides from know crashes in the daily builds thread I've only found one other person of late who's trying to run the game on 6 yr old pc using the onboard graphics lol Off the top of my head these are the following common reason for crashes if none of them work I'd advise contacting one of the devs with a recent crash file for them to look into and get you sorted. Delete your entire pcars folder located in user/my documents/Pcars Are you running the most recent update? In steam options/pcars right click/properties and check if you have it set to daily builds/set to high priority also check your file integrity. I'd like to help you get things sorted so you can enjoy the game prior to its release.

So with this game releasing in just a few days (or is it hours) what's the verdict from the people? You guys getting it? Is it a pass for you all? If you guys get it I'm definitely in. If not I'll probably still get it but not with the same zeal. Who am I kidding. I'll get it

I bought in early because I wanted to see what it was about and because I wanted a DX11 sim to play with plus there was a chance to break even or make a few bucks via profit sharing. Back when I paid my money, rF2 was a train wreck and this seemed like the best option for a next-gen sim.
It's fun enough to drive and look at the pretty graphics but I can't see ever racing it in multiplayer when I already have rF1, rF2 and iRacing for multiplayer. I do wish though that rF2 looked as good as pCARS.
Anyway, it's like Forza to me. A game not a sim. Where I hope pCARS does well is on the console. I think it's a better Forza than Forza is, if that makes sense. Sitting on the sofa, racing with a controller on the big screen I think it where this game sits for me however I won't buy it for the XB1 until later in the year when it's discounted.
I am much more interested in the release today of Euro Truck Simulator 2's Scandinavia DLC. I'm not joking either. I leave work in an hour and will be playing that when I get home.

He says after I already clicked "PURCHASE". lol Oddly enough I have to say it feels nice with the wheel. I do a lot of hot-lapping with it and I really enjoy it. What bothers me though is no real triple screen support. If anyone gets it and wants to knock around with it let me know.

I have had fun with it during beta, but also has been very frustrating at times. I will be messing around with it as the last time I tried it, it actually felt pretty good. I can see having some fun pick up races in the future.

I think I'll be single screening this.

What bothers me though is no real triple screen support. Oh, that sucks. Glad I haven't bought this yet then. I'll probably wait until I pick up a next gen console (rather if I do). Or until they offer triple screen support. Unfortunately at this time it's a bit of a deal breaker for me.

At 49.99 I probably would have bailed also, probably not. lol. I like to get all the games. Being I got that 50 percent off deal though I had to jump on it for 25 bucks. I've been going back and forth from the stretched triple and the single screen and I think I'll probably stay in the single screen.

$25 wouldn't be so bad. But yeah, definitely not $50.
