I got a paycode when I bought NetKar or at least this is what I am using (same paycode) to activate AC. Once you install Netkar the paycode, etc are located in a plain text file in one of the folders. Can't recall offhand which one but is pretty easy to find. Netkar has always been very smooth control for me, one of the best if not the best. It is easy to overdrive a few of the cars though or at least that is how I think of it. I would generally be using 900 or off for sensitivity on my Fanatec CSR, currently 900. One thing that may? be happening is what I experienced in iRacing and just now in AC If you mess with your FOV it can really affect the way the cars seem to respond when turning, all of sudden it is like your wheel is at sen 200 or lower, a little turn is like you flick the wheel hard. On the other hand AC has one of the best adjustment gadgets for FOV I have yet seen But this doesnt stop someone (ie me) from totally f#ooken it up

ya I get that in iRacing fred the closer to the dash I am the more trouble I have with the steering that's why I use FOV of 125 on iRacing otherwise I seem to 'oversteer' or turn in to late etc

lol I gave in and bought netkar pro but have yet to recieve a code? unless its the same code you get for the netkar activation? Not sure if my wheel is messed up, but wasnt very impressed with netkar out of the box....still curious how a game with no mods 5 cars and 10 tracks had a following for all these yrs lol I had ingame and wheel set to 900 and it felt like 250, everything felt like an on/off switch. Ill give it another go when i get back from the world of wheels show today Yes, its the netKar PRO paycode that you use to activate the entire netKar PRO game and the Assetto Corsa technical preview, aka demo. LOL!

Got the demo going, ffb was very good, looks nice but needs to be optimised better like zero i had to turn down things just to get 40 fps so unless they make some big changes its gonna be like pcars where you need a pig of a machine to run it on high settings....Liked the interface and widgets aswell should be a good game only beef i had was the lotus was far too easy to drive...i had everything turned off and i couldnt spin it for the life of me it would just push wide through the turn... iam just looking for a happy medium between rfactor and iracing for grip levels. This current state felt like a lower class fm4 car with racing slicks, but with awesome ffb Very good in all

How about release the game? I have had the tech demo from Day 1, and it was better than most racing games are at launch. They have a functional menu system. Just add the cars that they have done, along with the tracks and career mode. We all know they are going to hit us with DLC after release and so leave any unfinished tracks and cars until later.

DLC? Is it heading the way of Forza? Hmm. As long as its modder friendly, I think this one will be a winner.

I wish they would release a little more info on the content there planning on releasing...so far all I've gathered is some laser scanned tracks a couple gt cars and a few production cars like Ferrari and the zonda.....they still haven't confirmed what is modable like cars and tracks....I thought Netkar was fully modable but only certain aspects ended up being....the other thing to keep in mind the visuals in this game are mind blowing, how many amateur modders are going to be able to match the in game content very few I think? Plus the time it's gonna take to find there way around the programming. Anyways I've been impressed with what I've seen so far and can't wait for more!

You have hit on something there Kurupt, next gen sims are so complex that only the very best modders can do them justice. I dunno might spend the six odd quid on NCP just to have a look at AC, it's only the price of a beer...

So spent the six quid and got NCP...Okay that will sit on the hard drive until I am on a free up space splurge. The point was to have a look at AC. Set up was a little misleading, at start it asks you to turn your wheel, press your pedals etc. leaving me with the impression it had just set all these up, as it is partnered with Fanatec led me further down that belief. I hit the settings for pro figuring okay I'm a long way from being a good sim racer but also a long way now from being a total noob so lets dive in. Got on track pressed the gas pedal and...nothing.
Fine, back out and check settings, yes it recognised my wheel and pedals but they still needed to be set up, so went through the set up and back to track. Engine screamed, I pressed the gas pedal and the revs dropped, released it and revs went back up...sigh. Back out to settings, found some unlabled buttons next to the pedal setting so pressed them and ah now the display works in the opposite direction...Back to track. Joy! At last, lets drive. The famed FFB is not quite as good as rF2 but still very good, I didn't have quite the same feel of connection to the car but it was still better than most. Handling was...Well I don't know...Not bad, I'm not saying that but given I was set to pro it seemed a little too easy, oh I could spin out by pushing too hard but there were times I felt it was a little too forgiving, a little too much grip. But I would need to do an A/B with a car I was more familiar with driving to really say if that is the case. Looks wise it's nice, not the huge step up it looks in stills and vids. By the time it is scaled up across three monitors it is only a notch or two above rF2 at it's best.
FOV setup was okay, I prefer the latest way it can now be done in rF2, much more on the fly and I can redo do my view while on the way out the pits (often do when I switch cars)And I can't find a way to turn off the on screen wheel. But still the widget idea is a good one and the UI is better than rF2 at the moment that is undeniable.
As a tech demo it feels very polished, and I think it could be a real contender, but with just one car and track and no AI or weather...Well, there is still a lot of unknowns.

Thnx for the review m8 pretty much the exact same experience I had....as for grip it's not always bad thing that's the only beef I have with rf2.....it's managed to bring out the worst of cursing at times lol. This game and 2 other betas are taking a similar route towards physics and giving more grip based on the gripe of pros saying all sims lack grip. Yes it seems a lot easier but it takes a whole new method to be fast just run a hot lap and compare your times to the lb you'll be surprised when you realize your 8+ secs off the top guys. The pros say the cars have loads of grip and to be fast you need to drive on the limit lap in an lap out till you feel the tires starting fall off and when your pushing them in corners the car should be in a controlled drift and the steering should go light.....now the part that screws with our minds is our experience from past sims when you feel that experience you go ohhhh shit iam gonna lose it lol Once you start pushing them and getting that sensation these games become quit enjoyable Since 98% of us that sim racers have no racing experience it's up to you to believe what a race car should feels like....do we listen to the hard core simmer who believes in needle and thread precision inputs or balls to the wall with loads of grip from a pro driver? Anyways iam not a sim snob and can't wait for them to all be released its gonna be a good year for all us racers no matter what you choose

Yeah, strange thing is every Sim has it's pet racing drivers swearing the cars are just like the real thing, so I take all these things with a pinch of salt. I am not against grip heh, like you rF2 has me bouncing in my seat in frustration...Well they all do LOL But I look forward to more from AC, I hope they continue to only release to the standard of the tech demo, so everything is as close to finished as possible. It would make a refreshing change from the norm.
