Good observations Kurupt. I agree it does feel like it has a bit more grip than I would expect. Graphics are amazing and the ffb is solid. Not up to rF2 ffb standards in my opinion, but definitely very good. I haven't spent much time with it since the 2nd update. The 3rd update comes out tomorrow and if time allows, I will try to spend some more time with it. Sorry that you got hosed on the sale. If it makes you feel any better, I paid full price too on day 1.

Just picked this up a few hours ago. Got it on the steam sal.... uhhh I paid full price (don't want to make you guys feel bad). I'm kinda mixed about it. It feels very much like pCars to me. Graphics is also a mixed feel for me. Cars look great but tracks look like there's a layer of Vaseline on it in the replays. While racing everything looks fantastic but in replays things look off (sound familiar? rFactor2 a few builds ago). Physics and FFB the jury's still out for me on those. I do like the FFB though.
I hear multiplayer is supposed to be out tomorrow.

simhqmotorsports.com/assetto-corsa-hints-tips-part-1/I came across this tonight which is a basic setup tip and explanation of each setting which helped alot @ totalo if i recall correctly you use the same fanatec wheel as me? follow the guide above and properly config your wheel. what i found that gave me nore feel of the cars reactions was lower gain to 60-70% raise filter to 10-20 dampening to 5-10% and add 1-2 on wheel drift this should somewhat eliminate that heavy spring feeliong and give a bit more info on tire grips its not perfect in anyway what i found better than stock setting I felt the same as you VERY similar to pcars in many aspects, and from what i can tell early on will end up having similar ingame features like the add on apps etc. Replays do look like vasoline smeared around the cars but really not a game breaker for me. Only odd things ive come across so far is the heavy spring feel, lots of grip out of the corners but if you clip one of those big inside curbs @ silverstone at any speed the car becomes completly uncontrollable, also when you do break the rear loose majority of the time it results in a full out tank slapper thats very difficult to control. I like the ffb as its not overdone, but i have to disagree with those atm that say "it feels completly natural" Like all the other sims its still early and iam sure it will improve, but iam happy with what they have given us this far. I look forward to tomorrows build hopefully your right about mp!

After messing around some more I see what the problem is. AC's replays weren't meant for triple screen viewing. You can and it does everything correctly except that for replays there's some blurring happening. In a single-screen setup this works as it creates the illusion of depth and also the car is tightly cropped in the screen for the most part in replays. However in triples the camera is zoomed much further out but the blur is still applied everywhere but on the car.

Just played pcars today with that Christmas Brands Hatch patch. I gotta say I'm starting to REALLY warm over to that sim. Used the Ford Focus ST and I gotta say, these guys might finally be on the right path in the physics department.

I quite enjoy the game thus far, FFb feels good easy ui and so far is pretty well optimized and doesn't tax the gpu. Iam a firm believer most sims are under gripped and make it more difficult to make up for rl lap times instead of focusing on learning the fastest line around the track , however I find Ac to be a bit too grip and doesn't punish you when driving like an idiot. Few examples....we've all seen a race were a driver exits his pit stall doing a burnout and the rear kicks out a bit or even at the race start. In Ac you can floor it and leave a perfect set of 11s a 100ft long with very little wiggle. Another example I went into a hairpin in 6th slammed the brakes way later than I usually do and even downshifted 1 gear to far and had no problem controlling the car and continue through with hardly any break lock up as well. I find the gt cars to be easier and grippier than a fwd d class with slicks in fm4 at most a b class equivalent. There also seems to be no difference between a cold and warm tire which was similar to fm4 aswell I keep going back to my driver options to make sure there is no assists on but there all off and set to pro. What I don't understand is how a while back everyone was calling Pcars a simcade due to the amount of grip available yet they claim Ac which has much more to have the greatest physics and proper grip amongst the sims ? Not bashing it cause I enjoy it but I just can't wrap my head around the labelling and reasoning with the communities comments when comparing sims?

I gotta agree with you on those points. You really gotta push the cars hard to break loose or getting the weight wobbling around like running two over a curb and braking a the traction a little. The main thing you have to worry about is the understeer. The Formula Abarrath in AC feels almost identical to the Formula 3 rf2 third party mod: isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/16146-Open-Beta-v0-8-International-Formula-Series-3
